Sorry I haven’t posted on here in ages but it’s been quite a while since I’ve been on. Your derm sounds likes he’s almost as sown with the kids as I am and I hope your extra month gets your results. I’m finishing on Tuesday so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Just checked out your latest pics. You’re looking as fit as a butcher’s dog. Which is a compliment, in case you’re wondering. I’ve always wanted to say that but I’ve never really had the opportunity.

Well, my skin is finally looking great, awesome and superb. I do still have a tiny area on my right side of my chin that has about 6 bumps but I know they'll come up eventually and then be gone. And 3 bumps on my forehead. And maybe 3 on my cheeks. But my face seriously looks fantastic. I am so happy right now. If I still have the bumps at the end of this months treatment than I'm sure my derm will keep me on another month, but I am so looking forward to this being over. Today is the first day I realised that there may be an end to this. An end is within my reach! I cant wait. I wish I could post pics but Mike is still in Europe so I dont have the camera for another 10 days or so. I will defeitely post then.
Just wanted to share my approaching success with all you newbies. You may have a tough journey, you may not see the results you want in 4 months, but if you just stay here and gather the courage from those around you, and if your derm isnt paranoid of leaving you on this shit as long as it takes, then you can still beat acne. Even if it takes longer than every other person around you, even if it starts to feel like youre the only one that accutane refuses to work for. Dont give up hope.
OKAY?

I'm SO happy to hear that you are finally getting results! I was worried you were gonna loose faith
Accutane just MUST work, its way too powerful and hits all the right mechanisms. My derm tells me that you should have at least 30 days of NO new acne activity before you stop. So, if I were you, I'd make sure I keep going until I at least hit that, even if it takes an extra month. You've got a huge investment in your accutane course, so don't cut it short.
Enjoy your new face!

Hi Bushie! I was also worried I was losing all faith, I was really really worried that this was all going to be a big waste of time. The last 2 times you took accutane, was your face all cured by the end? And then your acne just came back? I have to come by your log to see exactly how youre doing but I hope this third time is nothing but charm for you. Thanks for visiting!
My face is still doing great, no new pimples. Unfortunately I have been picking at my last few blackhead/bumps so I have a couple of red marks but other than that its all great man! My lips are wicked dry, and my joints are fricking sore, and my legs are peeling from like the most mild sunburn I've ever had. It looks like I have lepracy. But I am happy.
Mike comes home on Wednesday from Holland, I am just dying for that day to arrive, it feels like its been a year. I've been so bored, sitting at home and watching my downloaded shows like Greys Anatomy, and as we speak I am watching Veronica Mars. I just hope my face is perfecto by then. Oh! And I chopped all my hair off. It felt good cause it was quite a handfull, but I dont really like the new cut, a little too plain, I want something with little more pizzaz. I'll take some picks when Mike gets back with my camera, k?
Well I gotta fly.

I started doing fun stuff at work yesterday. I officially am producing the hepatitis C virus in my lab. So dont mess with me or I might send it to you, some how. But its really exciting for me. I get to study a real live virus, up close and personal. Its been my dream since grade 10 biology, when I watched a cheesey video about viruses and the immune system. And how viruses are neither dead nor alive. And a whole bunch of other psychobabble.
The point is: Life is Good. Especially since my other half returns from Holland tomorrow. I hope he likes my gay haircut. And I hope he notices my skin is better, And I hope he isnt cranky from a 10 hour flight.
Well I should go tidy and then get to bed. I have a long day tomorrow of researching new and exciting ways to save the world....from viruses. Thats what I tell myself anyway.
Okay I'm GOING.

I had a derm appointment on Friday, and I am going to do a seventh month of treatment. The last month. God this has been a long and frightful time. I took in my prescription to get filled yesterday and it looks like my derm wrote it wrong. He only gave me 30 pills for 2 a day. Sooooo, I need more than that. Theyre holding the prescription at the pharmacy and trying to get a hold of the good doctor. So I have a couple days of no accutane. I do not care though. My skins doing very well, still getting lotsa wierd little bumps popping up but they go away like speed demons, so I'm cooooool with that. I am happy with my skin. I really am. And I cant wait to get off this shiznet so my skin texture can get back to its greasy old self. Just kidding, but I'm too red all the time and my skin is a wuss.
So right now I have a bad redmark on my cheek, a small flatish pimple on the other cheek, a couple bumps on my right chin and a couple on my forehead. But theyre all barely noticeable.
Jen: I know it frickin frustrating. Even if your skin is nicer than some people who have horrible acne I know it sucks when your face should be perfect by now but its not. I really dont know what to advise though, I mean if your still breaking out on accutane there is the fear of whats it gonna be like when you stop. But I also wonder if it is worth it to keep taking accutane for months just to get rid of the last few stubborn ones. I mean you hear of some people whose skin only gets better once they stop taking it. I think that if you think you'll benefit from an extra month you should definitely fight for it. This is your second treatment right? Just tell your derm you never want to take accutane again, you want to make sure you get rid of it ALL this time. I defenitely would have cried if my derm had stopped me at month 5. I needed this last month and I'm glad to have a 7th month to clear the last of it. So maybe...ya...I do think you should ask for another month. What do you have to lose except a few more pimples. And if the doctor says no, than what can you do right?
Well good luck, I'm sure things will improve soon.
Hey Corrine! I've missed you. I need to come by your log and see how your doing. Hopefully amazing. Glad you came by though!
