Thanks. I live in canada. How should I go about ordering a sample? I checked out that one website you posted but am not sure what to do.

A few posts ago, someone said Diana Yvonne had the cheapest shipping costs to Canada. She has samples of Level 3 and Level 6 available. Go here:

Unless you have a history of really sensitive skin, go for the Level 6. Most people can handle it. Just remember to start slowly. They'll tell you "once a week the first week, twice a week the second week" and frankly I upgraded that to "every other night the first week, every night the second week". But I have used retinoids before and I know my skin pretty well ... everyone has to figure out their own program, with just a little extra caution mixed in.

Okay, I don't have problems with comedonal acne. My pores are pretty much intact from RetinA, but my question is what benefits can I get out of GC since my main issue here is scarring. I know topicals aren't much effective on scarring since even more ablative proceedures don't do much for it. I have more of an uneveness because of soft scarring and my skin really looks dull and old...what benefits can GC give me? Anyone know?

For Queen or anyone... have you heard of people using different strengths on different zones of their face?? My face has many different "microclimates", for lack of a better work. I have some very sensitive areas, and some tougher areas. Some oily, some dry, and some normal. I thought of incorporating level six on some of the tougher areas and sticking with level three on the sensitive spots (under eyes, etc.)

I don't think it's going to erase your scarring. Here are the benefits I predict:

-- Maintenance of your clear pores, post-Retin A
-- Increased brightness of skin -- after a few weeks, you start to see the retinol "glow"
-- Increased evenness of coloration
-- Increased smoothness of skin (your dermis actually gets thicker with time, which will make scars and lines less prominent)

It makes sense to me. Did you scout the GC community board? Seems to me I saw some discussion of this.

3 questions.
Is green cream more directed towards older people cause I'm only 21?
Is having decreased oiliness a good thing? I've heard people with oily skin tend to have less wrinkles when they get older.
If it works and clears up my pores and red marks do I have to continue using it to maintain clear?

I know one of the sites that sells it accepts paypal. So if you have a bank account you could do that too. I'm sorry I can't remember which but I think it was cosmeticville. Anyway just go to the GC website and it has a list of the vendors.

Ok I checked for you and it is cosmeticville. Hope that helps.

It's not an age thing. If you have clogged pores and redmarks, it's going to be helpful no matter what age you are. Mature women also use it to repair sun-damage, even out the complexion, and reduce wrinkles.

Yeah, I've heard that too, but I am not entirely sure if skin science supports it. What IS true is that people with HYDRATED skin will have fewer wrinkles.

Probably, unless you simply outgrow whatever is going on with your body to give you clogged pores. (At 41, I'm still waiting to outgrow mine.) But once you get clear, I think you should be able to use it less often for maintenance.

These are good questions, so I suggest that you pay a visit to the Green Cream website and post these questions on their board as well. I've done my best to answer them, but there are people there who have used this product a lot longer than I have.

Queen of,

Thanks for mentioning the forum on green cream.com. I only skimmed the website yesterday, and looked further today.

I registered for the forums and hope to get my confirmation email soon!

I am definitely going to try green cream, but not until I use up my hoarded supply of ROC, Avon Anew Retinol night therapy and Neutrogena!

From what I've been reading, the green cream is such a superior form of retinol, I may not want to go back to my old stuff, so I'm using them up first.

For those of us who hate prescriptions and depending on doctors and pharmacies unless absolutely necessary, the good quality retinol creams out there are a blessing.

In a short time I've seen such a nice improvement in my skin. I'll never have "good" skin unless I go in for professional therapies, but my skin is a LOT better than it used to be and I do look younger than my actual years (I think!).

Thanks for being so helpful to everyone on their site; I notice you take the time to help everyone with questions. Thanks!

eusa_doh.gif A question for anyone who can answer:

Years ago (in the days when prescription Retin A was $5.00 a huge tube covered by medical insurance!), I used .10% Retin a cream and it cleared up my acne totally. I used it for approx 1 1/2 years every night, until I noticed it stopped "working". My skin remained clear, but my pores got larger and my skin was more lax (not as tight).

I've later discovered that Dr. Kligman (the inventor and "father" or Retin A), advises to use Retin A nightly for a year, and then 2 to 3 times a week for maintenance. I don't know the scientific reason behind this, but your skin apparently does "tire" from constant Retin A usage as I myself discovered.

Does anyone know if Retinol should be used the same way? Wish I could get onto that green cream forum, but I still didn't get my confirmation email.

I should really proof read. Dr. Kligman is the "father" OF Retin A. Sorry for any other typos...I'm at work and on the sneak!

Hey, Lavender, it's my pleasure ... it's so exciting to have stumbled across a really great product. I wish I'd found out about it a long time ago.

I suggest that you e-mail Kevin on the GC board and tell him you haven't gotten that confirmation e-mail yet. A couple of us have had the same problem ... there's something screwy going on with their registration. I think his email is kevin@greencream.biz

Let us all know if you start with the GC, it's really helpful to compare notes!

For anyone trying to register on the GC board, here's a message Kevin just posted over there:

I can't say for sure about the retinol but I have noticed a lot of the people on the GC forum who have been using it for a while do just use a few times a week for maintenance now. It seems I read a post on there from Kevin about it. Do a word search for maintenance and see what you find.

Thanks! I did get onto the green cream board and asked about long-term usage. Hopefully I'll get an answer soon. It does make sense that about after a year to cut down to two or three times a week like Dr. Kligman suggests for Retin A. I will always continue to use salicylic acid on a daily basis though. I found when I was using SA with benzoyl peroxide I was walking around in a constant state of irritation, but it really compliments retinol. My skin really needs that extra exfoliation.

I have decided to order green cream level 3...when I get my next paycheck in two weeks!
