My experience is that peeling decreases over time ... it still comes & goes, though!
I use a silica bead scrub in the mornings if my face is at all flaky or peely. I get mine from Vivant -- www.betterhealthyskin.com -- but any silica bead-based scrub will do. Or you can use a soft facial brush or baby brush to help exfoliate the loose flakes. Whatever form of manual exfoliation you use, BE GENTLE!
After exfoliating, I moisturize. My favorite is a combination of hyaluronic acid serum and emu oil ... leaves my skin very soft and supple.
Makeup definitely accentuates any skin flakiness .... I don't know a way around that one. I don't wear foundation myself.

I use Avene gentle purifying scrub. It has red beads in it, but I'm not sure if it is a silica bead scrub. How gentle? Light pressure or no pressure at all? Thanks!
So long as the beads are round, with no rough edges or seams, it's fine. You just don't want any abrasive edges at all.
Light pressure with fingertips is fine, I think. That's what I do, anyway.
If the flaking seems like it's getting out of hand, take a day or two off from Green Cream and let things settle down a bit.
I am also experiencing flaking (which I realize is a good thing b/c my skin needs to shed a few bad layers, for sure) but I have some questions about how to handle it.
1. I have been applying gobs of moisturizer - is this decreasing the effect and clogging my pores? It is a good product made for acne-prone skin from perricone.
2. How often should I exfoliate? I've just been using a soft scrubby in the shower ....
3. How long before I can expect to see a decrease in the flaking? 2 weeks? One month?
Thanks!
If you are applying moisturizer after GC, make sure you are waiting at least 30-45 minutes between the two.
Aside from that, so long as you are using a good product that you like, moisturizing shouldn't be a problem.
How often you exfoliate really depends on how often you need it and what your skin can take. Basically, I would get up the morning, take a look in the mirror, and exfoliate gently if things look flaky.
Hard to predict how long it will last. Basically, my advice is the same as to the poster above; if it seems like it's getting out of hand, just take a day or two off from Green Cream and let things settle down a bit.
This is a long-term product. Effects are gradual and cumulative. Taking a day off here or there will not impede your progress, and it could make it a lot easier for you to work with GC.
