I just checked eckerd´s from front to back... I read over 200 face products, and I could not find 1 single glycolic acid product...

I understand, that glycolic acid is alpha hydroxy but, there´s no such thing as alpha hydroxy by itself... they were all added to moisturizers, with 10,000 other ingredients.... It´s crazy!!!!!

HELP... I heard they sold one at walgreens for like $3 ... What the hell is it called?

Thx!

There is 2 at walgreens...they are in white bottles and just say Alpha Hydroxy acid on them... Obviosly there are other ingredience in them because they are only 8%.....do the math... Just make sure any one you buy lists only AHA or Glycolic acid as an active ingredient

Also, check out Aqua Glycolic brand products. I heard they are available at Walmart.

Yeah the brand names he mentions are located at drugstore.com, but there like 20 bucks for the cheapest AHA (8%)....
Eckerds.com sells the one everyone else is using. I know its not at the store, because I went to two different ones and couldn't find them. But on the website, just go to search type in Alpha Hydroxy Acid. The brand is called just that Alpha Hydroxy, and its in a red box. The only way you can tell the % however, is to actually look at the box and in the right side it says the %...I hope that helps.

I have not read the Acne Cure. The only "pure" glycolic acid product that I have found is the one I am using now (MD Forte), but at $45 a bottle(ouch!), I will not be rinsing it off of my face 10 minutes after applying it! I have used the Alpha Hydrox oil-free gel in the past with good results. I don't feel that the extra ingredients in it are detrimental. In fact, they are probably beneficial. I feel that the Alpha Hydrox products are an excellent value. This one in particular is oil-free and fragrance-free. Let me know if you find anything comparable. Didn't one of the original posters of the Acne Cure thread state that she used some Neutrogena product? I recall that it had other ingredients in it as well.

Sorry about that! :-s I just want to reiterate that the Alpha Hydrox product is 10% GA, and at only $9.99, it's a very good value. The quality of this product is first rate. Sometimes cheaper isn't better.

mine is the Walgreen's version. unfortunately, not all the ingredients in it are non-comedogenic (they're not high up in list so it may not matter, especially since it's not staying on skin for a long time, but still). I'll check out Eckerds version next time (I don't usually go to Eckerds..there are a lot more Walgreens and Rite-Aids near me and a small CVS on campus) and probably buy the Alpha Hydrox name brand stuff if I don't like their ingredient lists (the alpha hydrox ingredient list was much more skin friendly). The weird thing is that I haven't seen their stuff in the drugstores lately but I used to all the time, so I'd have to buy that online.

Yes, I know what you mean. I am in the Chicago area. We have a chain of stores called Ulta3. They carry all of the Alpha Hydrox line. I would think they are in NY as well.

I just found a list of NY locations:

Never heard of them. All of the locations have similar zip codes, and I think they're all in upstate New York. I'm going to check out more drugstores. I'm probably just not going to the same ones I used to (even within the same chain, some stores are larger or smaller than others) (likely since I moved to a different side of the city within the last year).
