I have been checking new angles and lighting conditions (twice in the tinted car windows which always caused depression) And so far my scars are so much better. It use to be this whole area of craters and rolling scars which made the skin look really nasty. Now it is a 4 or 5 random little scars that stand out, but that overwhelming scar look is gone. My whole face is more plump, and the scarred area is way more plump than before (before the area looked almost dead or rotting-really wierd. I am very pleased with the results so far- money well spent.

There is a lot of talk about 2 and 3 week intervals and if there is a difference. I will go ahead and test it out by doing my next 2 sessions 2 weeks apart, to see if if results pick up even more.

I do have a lot of hyperpigmentation along the scars, and that is the only thing that seems to stick around. They are kind of a faded red colour-almost a light bluish-purple. With a Sunless Tanner, you cant see them though.

Hey niko...just had my first test area for smoothbeam done...have crater like depressed scars on chheks and temples like u....u think smoothbeam is a winner for this?? Just a tad skeptical

Am seeing an RN in Moultrie GA. I amn only having smoothbeam done (not needling) since the guy in the before and after phtot with the temple scars look amazingly improved. I hope I can achieve that result too!!

A girl in Fl recommended i get smoothbeam in moultrie GA since it was closer. She is an RN who does the treatment out of her home. The treatment is none ablative, therefore, non surgical so there isn't really any risk in causing permanent scarring unless the person handiling the equipment is completely inept.

Her name is Myra Thomas and she comes up under the provider search in smoothbeam.com. Laws in GA don't require a credential check on anyone purchasing medical equipent though ( she outrightly admitted this to me). I do feel ok though since I am consulting with "tinainfl" (user name ) who is aldso going there next week. She seemed really nice and helpful and even went so far as to do a test spot on my left cheek area where I have 5 wide rolling scars at 12 joules for free. It felt a little uncomfortable ( like a stingling feeling). She showed me where the setting was displayed on the didgital reading device thingy (machine looked exactly like it came from candela) and it said smoothbeam on it.

Oh yea and she told me after seeing my scars that I would have to pay 150 per session (since I am scarred only in certain areas instead of entire face) Seems real cheap!

Could go both ways...

(1) Like Niko Said, Sketchy, because you don't have the formalities of a clinic.

or

(2) Custom Service, you might just get a more personalized service, @ a better price.

anyway, good luck!

Niko,

i've been reading some of your postings and am very interested in having the smoothbeam procedure done on me. you are very unclear on how much YOU paid for this procedure. i'm interested to know, to see if i could afford it or not. is negotiating something I can do with a doctor and do you have any tips on how to.

do you think it was worth it?? any info. would greatly appreciated.

thanks,

bebe

Definitely worth it, try to stay in the 2000 dollar range for 4-5 full face sessions. a little below is a good deal, a little above isnt bad.

My RN in GA is only charging 300 for each full face smoothbeam and 150 for me since I am scarred in spotted areas rather than full face

I called the nearest place to me that has Smoothbeam and I asked how much it would be to do just my cheeks and the lady on the phone said between $75-$150. The consultation is free and she said if the doctor didn't have another patient right after that she could do it the day of the consultation. It is called Gulf Coast Laser Center and it is in Gulfport, Mississippi. I'd also like to say how grateful I am to all of you who have shared your experiences and wisdom. I feel like I'm not alone in this battle anymore.

Allrighty, back from Canada. Just let me shave and I'll post an update (detailed).

For starters, on the trip, I noticed that my skin looked better in the rear view mirror. Scars seem to be "shrinking" and "filling."

UPDATE 8/30

I haven't been able to find the electric razor, so I haven't shaved yet. But, I will do a minature update. Take all of this into consideration:

(2) Treatments --- >
It's been 36 days since my first smoothbeam on a setting of 12.
It's been 11 days since my second smoothbeam on a setting of 12.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) I would say that active ance has decreased SIGNIFICANTLY since I started my smoothbeam treatments. I previously remember having at least one good size pimple everyday. In my past vaction of 8 days, I only got about 5 smallish blemishes. I didn't get much sun, so UV isn't a factor.

* take into consideration that I use BP nightly (mixed with moisturizer), and SA (pads and toners) thoughout the day.

(2) Pore size has shrunk SIGNIFICATNLY. My skin really looks nice and plump. A lot of small large pore scars are starting to look like just pores. The doctor was bragging to the assistant that smoothbeam was the only lazer to do "that." "That" referring to the doctor pointing to the pores on my nose.

(3) SCARS. I would say that the appearence of scars on my face has improved. The scars are all there, but I must say that they appear to be filling. Since they haven't filled to the rest of my face, they are still visible. It's extremely difficult to judge such a thing like the depth of a scar, but I beleive the underlying tissue is rising.

Example: I have a saucer like scar on the puffy part of the face next to the nose. This scar is a classic moon crater type. It's not very big and there arn't any scars in the immeidate area, so it hasnt really bothered me, but it paints a perfect picture. I remembered it to be rather round. Now it appears that the underlying skin has rose significantly on one side of the "crater" - to give make the once full moon (of a scar), a waning moon. The scar's edge is no longer a fully defined circle, rather a fading cresent.

It is still extremly earlier to be 100% confident in my observations, but I'm in better spirits. It is sometimes suppose to take up to 3 treatments (3 months) to see INITIAL results.

I'd be gald to answer any questions.

Sounds like the scars are just starting to respond. As the weeks/months go bye, these results will get better.

Marcsheep, my large pores / large pore scars are around and below m cheekbones.

Hello50: Im not sure that I understand. Have you scars indented once again?? or are these the new ones you are talking about (scabs)?
