Hi there,
has anyone suffered from acne & ezcema at the same time ? it's really terrible & difficult to treat as the areas with ezcema is dry which needs lotsa moiturizers & with my acne-prone skin is really difficult.
Anyone who'd experienced this before & mind sharing ?
Thanks.

sorry, i've never experienced this but i do suggest going to a derm (if possible). it's better to talk to a professional about a matter like this.

I've experienced this (still). I had weeping eczema (the one they call "wet" eczema) when I was younger and let me tell you, acne is nothing compared to wet eczema.

There is a cream, ZincKit, that can combat both. www.zinckit.com - The main active ingredient is SA 2%, but contains TTO 4% too. It works great for me at preventing pimples and itchiness. I also take B5, 2g/day, and started going on a vegetarian diet 6 months ago. Result? It looks like I never had acne or eczema. I have virtually no scars, my skin tone is even, less oily skin and significantly shrunken pores. Will it work for you? I don't know, but it is worth a shot. I do believe diet will be the eventual cure for most skin problems including eczema and acne.

Just visited www.zinckit.com to read more info on this product. anyways, since this product is mainly for eczema, do you apply it on the area which has acne too ?

Its a double edged sword having both, because the treatment of one involveds the exacerbation of the other. I ended up just treating my eczema at the expense of my acne, dealing with my acne for a month or so, then focused on curing that.

Hi there, I used to suffer from the same problem as you did until a few weeks ago, when a friend recommended I try one particular cure she strongly advised me to, it wasn't a cream as such but an information package, found right here and cost much less than even a jar of aloe!. I managed to clear most of my eczema within the first 2 weeks, the rest of it has scars that are still disappearing but my pimples managed to disappear within the first two weeks.
Good luck with your journey.

I have both also. The eczema is along my laugh lines, chin and a spot on my forehead. I got it 2yrs ago after using a high end make up and the only thing that gets rid of it is a cortisone cream from the Dr. I hate using it and have tried everything else that I can look up to use . But so far nothing works. Let me know if you find something, also Cindy Matthews could you share what it is that you used or tried? Thanks, Elf

I do!! I reccomend Sudocrem as a spot treatment, it's AMAZING because it is a treatment for BOTH acne AND eczema!! <3 it. I put it on at night because it's pretty white, and in the morning it leaves flakes that need to be exfoliated, but it's super hydrating! And it works, it's a healing cream.

I'm currently using Pond's Dry Skin Cream (at night, because it's really greasy) and it is also awesome. Check into both!

Sudocrem's only available in Europe though, I think. or online. I bought mine in poland.

I actually gave myself eczema from being overzealous self-treating my acne. I was using a BHA toner in the morning and a glycolic acid cream at night and it was just too much acid! I woke up one morning with full blown eczema - swollen, red eyes and red, itchy, scaling on my chin, upper lip, etc. Gross! My dermatologist has me on a super emollient cleanser/moisturizer routine (which I would have never dared try before because of my acne and oily skin) and a hydrocortisone ointment that is also really heavy and greasy. But my skin just sucks it in. I also take allergy meds orally as she believes I had an allergic reaction to one of my acne preps. Unbelievably, my acne has actually cleared up on this regimen which I don't understand at all. I have to follow this routine for two weeks and then I guess we'll revisit more gentle products. But the punch line is ..... I've not had one breakout of any kind (blackhead, whitehead, cyst, pimple) since I began this routine. Nada. I don't know if it's the hydrocortisone or what, but it's keeping my skin clear. Strange, I know.

I've suffered from this from the past few years now. I've had eczema all my life all over my body and face. In the past few years i've been tying desperately to juggle acne on top of that and in the last few weeks my acne has gone from mild to severe. I'm finding both conditions very painful - particularly combined and am at my wits end. I have scheduled a dermatologist appointment and will keep you posted!

Hey, I am surprised there is someone else out there just like me. I have the most sensitive skin ever. I have tried everything that the dermatologists suggested as well as over the counter creams and gels. I started experiencing eczema and rashes on my face from all of the different treatments I was trying. My skin obviously rejected everything I was putting on it. Now, I take Elidel, which really helps with itching and redness. It's a very light non greasy cream that I love. However, I still suffer with acne as well on my cheeks and chin. I apply the Elidel all over my face first after I wash it, then I apply benzoyl peroxide on my acne only. I think that really helps with the breakouts. I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm waiting for the day where my skin is clear.

Yep I'm dealing with this. You can read about my experience at this thread:

Don't have a miracle cure yet, but I at least seem to be getting a better feel for what's causing the eczema...

I feel your pain. I get excema aswell but thankfully it's only seasonal excema. I get it around my eyes (eyes blow up like big crusty tomatos and patches on both sides of my mouth. The only thing that helps me is steroid creams but I don't really like using them because I know they can be bad for you if you use it for long periods of time.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser- i use this as a face wash in the morning and at nite

Cetaphil Anti-Bacterial Bar- Ok i use this in the shower, all over, it really helps with eczema and acne

Aloe Vera Moisturizer(Fragrance Free)- ok so this stuff is also really good, i use it morning and nite after washing my face

Cetaphil is a really good product, and anything aloe vera based, well i hope this helps you

thanks, Michael
