How can I convince my derm to prescribe accutane?

Not all derms are like that. It's supposed to be used for cystic acne or persistant acne that is non-responsive to other treatments, so if you're not cysic they make you jump through all the hoops of trying everything else, so they can say you're in the "non-responsive" category.

It really just depends on the derm.

just tell your derm that you are depressed becoz of your acne...and maybe tell him that your acne causes scarring or something...and ask for accutane

Depression is not usually a word you want to use when you're trying to get a derm to give you Accutane due to the supposed link between Accutane and depression..
