Hey all:

I'm currently on minocycline and I have some bad side effects (confusion, agitation to the point where I'm useless, nervousness), worst of all, it seems to be counter productive. I'm curious about the cost of accutane w/out insurance? and can someone compare the side effects between mino and the tane?

Over $2,000 for sure. You have to add in all the doc visits and blood tests.

I would get insurance for 6 months and finish my treatment and then let the insurace expire. If I was you.

I get 60 40mg pills with insurance for $30/month. Without insurance it would cost $800/month! Ouch! I don't know how anyone could go on it w/o insurance. It's just way too expensive just for the meds (in the US anyway). Add in the blood work and doctor visits, and it's insanely expensive.

I spent about that much and I have insurance.

60-80mg pills are $500 online.

I would advise you to get a GOOD insurance and do your treatment, then let the insurance expire.

Mine was $253 with insurance -- 45 40mg pills. So expensive! It's the brand name, though and not the generic. I might switch to that... is there any difference in how they work, or are they pretty much the same?

I live in Canada and it just cost me $135 for a one month supply. I do not have insurance.

To me, this is quite a lot.

However, its a small price to pay for a cure for acne. That, and night blindness.

bnd.

My initial course was to cost me $3500 U.S. This was to include all doctor visits/blood work along with the 80mg/day brand name Accutane. No insurance...very depressing.

My initial course ACTUALLY cost me around $750 U.S. (lets just say that I found "other" ways around it)

My receipt from Walgreens says that without insurance my single pack of 20mg generic (Claravis) would be about $280. If you are prescribed a dosage that needs more than one pack you have to pay for each pack separately. With insurance i pay $10 per pack. I'd pay $30 for name brand, i have no idea what name brand costs out of pocket though. Claravis works just fine though, i don't know why anyone would want to pay even more for the brand.

You need to be sending me a pm detailing these "other" ways.
