Hi! I am considering trying glycolic acid - applied by myself.
1 Is it dangerous to use glycolic acid 30/50 % at home?
2 What are the risks?
3 Is there anything I should be aware of?
4 I have heard you should have something called baking soda or something like that? What is it...I know it's for removing the acid from the skin afterwards...but what is it called exactly?
5 Is it supid to by the acid off ebay or can I trust them?
Thanks a lot!

1. No, as long as you know what you're doing, don't leave it on too long and make sure you neutralise it
2. Leaving it on too long and burning yourself... nothing else as far as I know
3. I don't believe so... like I said as long as you've made sure you know what you have to do
4. You need to have some baking SODA, not baking powder, to mix with a little water to make a paste, then you rub this on where you put the acid to neutralise it (baking soda is an alkali), water won't completely get the acid off your face. It's sometimes called Bicarbonate of Soda in shops, or just baking soda.
5. I've never bought off Ebay personally, but lots of people on here have and don't seem to have any problems with what they've got. Just make sure you're buying off a 'powerseller' I suppose.

By the way, two more questions:
What tools do you use to apply the acid and the baking soda?
Can I use this glycolic acid on the body? For instance on my hands?
thanks!
(NB! I found out that baking soda = NaHCO3)

Cotton balls to apply the peel and baking soda, just mix it with VERY little water and apply it on your face in a paste form.
Yes you can use it on the body, at a % of like 70% or 50% though.

I use one of these brushes to apply the acid after putting it in a glass. But people like to do it different ways. And for the baking soda, I just get a tablespoon in my hands and add a little water and make a paste with it, then rub it straight on my face.
Like other people have said you can use it on your body but why would you want to use it on your hands...? Never heard of people having red marks/acne on their hands but I dunno.
