Believe it or not, I'm in the same boat. I've actually been wanting to ask that for a while so any answers would be greatly appreciated!! I have EXTREMELY shallow scars on my cheeks adjacent to my nose (3 or so on each side). Like I said, they're barely indented... they're just red more than anything.

from what i understand, it takes at least 6 months for a "scar" to fully mature, so it could raise on it's own. As far as the redness goes, it will probably fade; though it may take a year or more. Accutane made redness worse for me; but everyone's reaction is different. I've been off tane and am waiting for all the marks/scars to heal/mature.

If you have scars and/or redmarks, Accutane will just leave it worse. Many people on this site even say Accutane cause them scarring.

Well, I'll probably wait a few more months before I start any kind of red mark treatment. Thanks for the input, getbehindmesatan. (cool name by the way)

Most of those "redmarks scars" are just active areas that keep sprouting new acne if I'm not right? Atleast for me. Your also 14 and any marks you have will most definitly heal quicker than most of the "ADULTS" here on the forums. Sometimes people forget younger people heal quicker and can actually avoid most scarring. I wouldn't treat any of your red marks also while on Accutane, trust me. Just let Accutane run its course and then start the process. It will be much more effective to treat the red marks once you have no acne. People fail to realize that Accutane pushes everything up and gets all the gunk out of your system, spots that seem to scar would most likely scar over time anyway from repeat acne in that spot. Reply back if I hit any nails on the head or any further questions.

Hi, i've been off Accutane 6 months now for cystic acne on my back now I have alot of redmarks left over. The marks have faded a little abit but my derm said it could take a few years to fully clear. But I have an appointment next week to see some cosmetic consultant to see what he can do for the marks maybe microdermabrasion I don't know yet. I've also been using 30% Glycolic acid off ebay and I must say it has reduced the marks alot in only 2 weeks. Anyway if you dont do anything to help you redmarks then I'm afraid it will take a very long time indeed to clear as I know myself.
