Questions about clinics in the UK...

Ok, I'm 17 and have red marks that I've been trying for ages to get rid of. Recently my mum has offered to pay for some sort of professional treatment in a clinic that will get rid of them, whatever it takes. However, after phoning around several ones in the Manchester area, they all seem to say you have to be at least 18 for them to do anything on you.

But I'm SURE I've heard of people on these boards living in the UK, being my age, and still having had peels and treatments like these done on their faces. SatanInHeels, if you see this topic, I'm sure I read a post of yours saying you were going to have an Obagi peel done, and you're the same age as me...?

So... is it really not possible for them to do anything until I'm 18? Nothing at all? There must be some way I can get something done at the age of 17. If anyone can give me any more info or advice I'd appreciate it. I'm not 18 until next June, and I wanted to get my skin sorted out well before then so I could enjoy my summer and then hopefully have perfect skin for when I (hopefully) go to Uni.
