Ok, I've completely banished my acne using this diet!! However, those who know of it i want to ask a few questions:

To get your daily Kcal needs (3000 for me - only get like 2500 usually tho but thats gotta be enuff) you need to basically eat about 150 grams of fat! (well for me) (olive oil or brazil nuts I would use as a combi) Funnily enuff the saturated fat doesn't go over 20 in this diet which is good i spose(the government guideline for me).

What i basically want to know is this ratio and amount of fat healthy? Got proof etc.?

The Wai people are a couple of quacks... I wouldn't follow their protocol if I were you. Eating healthy fats though is positive, but I don't know what kind of ratio you are talking about unless it's fruit to fat (because fruit and fat are the staples in WAI's diet). I think you should follow your own instincts, research different dietary options and chart your progress and reactions in regard to your own fat intake instead of following their guideline.

I think they were definately on to something as far as the connection of diet and acne is concerned. Their diet cleared me about 80% for a number of months, however maintaining the diet took a huge toll on my social life because it was the most restrictive diet I've ever been on which made dining with friends embarassing and in most cases impossible.

I think where the connection was for me in Wai's diet, was the whole eating fat with or after fruit suggestion. Eating fat with fruit prevents the blood sugar spike you would normally get from consuming fruit (or carbs or any food that turns to glucose in the body) alone. This diet seems to help somewhat for controlling acne in insulin resistant people as a result.

Wai's diet does not work for everyone. Most of the dieters posting on the boards about 4 years ago (when the diet was really popular) were unhappy with the results.
