I take Grapefruit Seed Extract each day. Can't really say if it does anything. Regardless, it can't hurt, and if you notice improvement, go with it. Hell, placebo is generally as good as any drug anyways.

I took grapeseed extract for a couple of months and it didn’t improve my redness or make my face look better in any way different than usual in that time. It might work for some people and maybe it’s really good for your insides but I’m taking plenty enough other things for that so when my second bottle ran out I stopped taking it.

If you have rosacea/facial flushing and blushing, even early symptoms of this disorder then you should definitely consider taking daily:

- Grape Seed Extract (at least 95% purity) 200mg-400mg,
- Pycnogenol (at least 90% purity) 200mg-400mg,
- Ester-C 2,000mg-4,000mg
- ALA 200-400mg (Alfie is right to recommend this as it is a very potent antioxidant as long as it is in its natural form of R-ALA NOT S-ALA)
- and other bioflavanoids that contain polyphenols especially OPCs.

These supplements are more for prevention rather than cure. A lot of you have posted that you have taken it yet haven't seen any improvements and that is the reason why. These supplements prevent your blood vessels from further degeneration. They reinforce the vessel walls so prevent further damage. As rosacea for the most part is a vascular disorder, these supplements should definitely be in any rosacea sufferers arsenal!

Bfguitar, Grapefruit seed extract is an extremely potent anti-fungal and antiseptic so will be especially good if you suffer from Candida as it will kill off any 'bad' yeasties smile.gif These could be causing the underlying inflammation.

SuperCelebs, if you want to get rid of the eczema try taking 3g-5g of pure Omega-3 fish oils that have been cross-examined and cleared of pollutants. This will act as an extremely potent anti-inflammatory and you should see an improvement in your skin after around 6-8weeks.

lol just realized the main point of aznboi's post:

Omega-3 fish oils is your answer. This is what will reduce your inflammation but it doesn't come cheap but if you ask me it's definitely worth it.

Hi Goldengirl, Carlson's is a reputable brand and can be found at many sites like http://www.mercola.com/forms/carlsons.htm. But the best site I've found that sell fish oils is http://www.1stvitality.co.uk/. Its' awesome, they have various potencies and there is no fishy after-taste when you take them. Infact, you can't even taste the fish because it contains some herbs and lemon that conceal the fishy taste which is great smile.gif

Unfortunately they are very expensive but in my view very much worth it.

With regards to Borage oil, you should take Evening Primrose Oil instead because several studies have shown that the body converts more GLA (from EPO) into prostaglandin E1 than it does when borage oil is taken. Prostaglandin E1 is the potent anti-inflammatory we need to suppress any skin conditions.
