I will let you know what happens - I am getting a new cleanser, toner, and moisturizer today so if my acne is still happening after I switch, I may start to think it's the Prep&Prime. Which would really suck, because I love the way this stuff goes on and works underneath my makeup!
Let me know what happens w/ you!

I am sure that because your skin didn't break out w/ that, it probably will be fine w/ the Prep+Prime.
And I know I'm not the only one who had problems w/ the studio fix - if you go to makeupalley.com (and even on here) there are a lot of people who had the same problem - even if they weren't acne-prone! Go figure.
But you're right, everyones skin is different, so you never really know unless you try . . .

If you have any trouble with foundations I'd give veggiegirls minerals a try.
Thanks for the advice though

Firstly: Thank you for your response
Secondly: Why the capitals? I dont like being shouted at
Thirdly: I can understand why you dont like MAC, since you havent had a really good experience from it, however, I found in my case, that it worked really well with my skin type. Infact, my acne lessened when using their products (I doubt it was the studio fix that lessened my acne, but the MAC products I was using definately didnt contribute towards it.
Fourthly: why have you written practically the same thing in everythread?
Anyway: since I'm in this thread, I'll let you all know what I think of the prep +prime skin
I think its great, infact, I'm really glad I bought it! I havent had ANY break outs from it- so that's a bonus. Also, I've found that I havent had to touch up my foundation. I love it!

I guess I was really overzealous about getting the word out that MAC might be the culprit of further breakouts. And I just didn't want someone to buy studio fix and have it ruin their skin, like what happened to me. You're right, it might work for some people and it definitely does look good when you have it on. But it just killed my skin.
I was just trying to get the word out

izel- Hey I really think you had an unlucky match with studiofix. I know alot of people that have. I think an ingredient in it is really pore clogging. Then again, It all depends on the person. I know you've had a hard time with it, but for others, MAC has worked really good. Also, have you tried MAC foundations other than the studiofix? If not I'd suggest not to bash ALL of MACs foundations. Thanks.

hi pookie.
I reckon it worked quite well on my dry patches, but I'd advise u to exfoliate first, before u put the primer on. The only thing that might annoy u is the amount of shimmer in it. It looks kinda weird with shimmer on ur nose, forehead etc lol!
althought the shimmer bugs me, its the only primer that I've found that hasnt caused my makeup to melt off my face. and it really does make the studio fix go on soooooooooo smoothky.
hope that helps

I took it back to mac to get a refund- the main reason being that the shimmery stuff was REALLY annoying me... every time the sun was in my face... my face would look like someone poured glitter all over my face
Secondly.. I started to get some break outs on my nose- nothing about my makeup changed apart from the addition of this primer to this makeup routine- I really do think that it was the shimmery things that were the culprit though, since they were a nightmare to get off, even after cleansing with wipes and 2 different facial washes
Although, I really did love the way the primer made my studio fix sit perfectly on my face ALL DAY, I really didnt think it was worth keeping... as a friend on the boards recently said to me "you dont need all that crap on your face". This is totally true.
Anyway... I just thought I should update you and warn you if you wanted to get it. This is by far the worse MAC product I've had to deal with (and trust this... I normally swear by MAC).

I went off of the Mac Prep+Prime, but ended up going back to it because it wasn't the cause of my acne (I have hormonal acne and I think that the moisturizer I was using was clogging my pores). But I've started spironolactone, and my acne has started to clear up wonderfully, along w/ the aid of Mario B products . . . but it would be interesting to see if I wasn't using anything to treat my acne if I'd be breaking out from the Prime . . . most likely I would.
I really do like how this goes on (not heavy, and sinks right in) and keeps my on foundation for all day wear.
You're right about the shimmer, but I don't notice it under my makeup . . . even by the time I've applied it and blended it in I hardly notice it.
Anyway, good luck on your search for a good primer! I really did like philosophy's "protection creme" although I don't think it's quite as good as this one.
Have a good day, Michelle

.Zinc Oxide 16.10%, Octinoxate 7.50% Water, cyclopentasiloxane, butylene glycol, peg-7 dimethicone, cyclohexasiloxane, dimethecone, phenyl trimethicone, vinyl dimethicone/methcone, silsequioxane crosspolymer, methyl gluceth-10, glycerin, dimethicone/ vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, caffeine, tocepherol, sucrose, stearyl glycrrhetinate, cellulose acteate, glycyrrhetinate, cellulose acetate, methicone, PEG/PPG-19/19 Dimethicone, magnesium sulfate, silicia dimethyl silylate, silica, sorbic acid, phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin.
Basically, a bunch of silicones, chemical emollients, emulsifiers, silica (which some people break out from) and preservatives (phenoxyethanol)
Those with acne prone skin are dealing with internal issues (not simply hormonal) but toxicity issues. The skin is referred to as the 3rd kidney, whatever toxins are not processed out your kidneys will find another route of elimination (your skin).
Acne can get much better if you are making sure you are "going" at least once or twice a day, limit refined sugars and processed foods and eat a lot of probiotic foods such as kefir, yogurt, raw sauerkraut etc.
I would steer clear of any MAC products.
