Hello,

I just wanted to jump in here regarding Generic versus Brand fillers.

I would never ever use a generic filler - ever.

EVER.

The price difference between the Brand and the Generic is minimal and not worth the possible damage you could do to your face by using a product that is not from the manufacturer.

The manufacturer - Qmed - has a good price point for its brand products: Restylane and Perlane.

The very last thing you'd want to do is purchase a low grade product or worse, a product that is contaminated. Hence, getting an infection resulting in more scar tissue or other complications.

The brand name products, which are legally available in the US, are the only ones approved as dermal fillers.

It's just not worth the risk to go Generic. In my opinion, anyway.

xoxo

Hey Love, when you did your routine injection every 3 months with Perlane, did you do another layer over it with the Restylane? Or do you only use Perlane, then touch up with Restylane weeks after?

Hi guys,

does anyone find that their needles becomes a bit blunt after about 3 injections ? I'm still very new to this, but have found it gets slightly harder to get under the skin after a few injections,

thanks

Not ignoring, just busy traveling =/

I never use Restylane anymore. It's not viscous enough.

Perlane is thicker and last longer - and you can use it to fill, as well as touch-up.

-----------

Jackie, no the needles don't get blunt after 3 injections (to me).

If you order 1ml, then you get 2 needles and each are good for about 15 injections each.

If you order 1/2 ml, then you only get 1 needle.

Would so-called 'saline' injections for rolling scars be part of this group of self-administered substances? I'm trying to get a fix on competitive pricing for the procedure in the Los Angeles/Orange County, California region.

No hon, it wouldn't. But there are some good threads on it here:

I don't give out my sources anymore because the pharmacy I was using stopped selling it -- for awhile -- after so many people were ordering it and *calling them* to ask about injection techniques. So, it worries me to give out my source any longer, because I don't want them pulling it again.

However, if you google: canadian pharmacy perlane

It should be the first listing on the search results.. and that's all I'm saying.

Not the first 3 "sponsored" ads at the top, but the first in the search results LIST.

Jackie, I have never used a filler for anything other than scars but I would say the technique is the same, except spread it out more. Inject spots up to an inch in diameter for wrinkles. That's what I would think. Not sure.

I have trouble injecting scars that I cannot have a clear view of such as the ones far back on my cheeks and by my ear. Any techniques or suggestions for injecting these areas by yourself, Love?

Marking your scar to see it better:

Please, see here.

After marking the scar with a surgical pen as indicated above ^^ I would us mirrors to see where you are injecting.

Have one mirror in front of you and one to the side. You know what I mean right? It's similar to being at the salon, when the stylist holds up a second mirror so you can see the back of your head?

Well, in this case, to see the side of your face, you'd have 1 mirror in front of you, and 1 mirror on the side of your face.

So, you'd be looking at the side mirror while injecting.

Hi Jackie,

You may not like hearing this, but the best way to figure out how to inject for wrinkles, especially for YOURS inparticular, is to go to a derm and tell them "I want to hold a mirror while you inject, so I can watch everything you're doing. And, I want you to explain to me what you're doing AS you're doing it." Be firm about it.

Then, you will know.

It's extremely difficult to explain injecting techniques in text. Nearly impossible I'd say. Some injection techniques are Threading, Fanning, Serial Puncture, Cross Hatching.. but there are so many. And, many of them are used in combination when it comes to injecting for wrinkles.

Explaining injection techniques for acne scars is far more simple, because the are not linear.. they are depressed and each one covers a minimal area individually.

I uploaded a video on injection techniques, here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDOqo0ildAw

It was posted on a previous page in this thread.

xoxo

I have a mirror in front of me and on the side of me but I still have a bit of trouble getting some spots. My scars are still red so I do not think it needs to be marked yet. I've been getting really breakouts the last 2 months and got a lot more scars cry.gif

Does anybody have success with fillers on jawline scars? These scars on my jawline flatten out when stretched, which indicates that it would be a good candidate for fillers, but it has not worked out so well so far on one scar that I have. I have recently got about 6 more scars on my jawline and they also flatten out when I look up, but are visible when I look straight or look down. I'm afraid even after filling these up with Restylane/Perlane, it will continue to be visible if I put my head down.
