Hey Love, when you did your routine injection every 3 months with Perlane, did you do another layer over it with the Restylane?

Just wanted to let people know that there is a summer sale on Radiesse going on in Canada.

I live in Ontario, near Toronto, i went to a clinic and got a syringe of Radiesse for $480 (CAN) AFTER TAX. Thats pretty good deal considering online pharmacies sell it for $300 US. After conversion to Canadian dollars and tax added you can say i got a hell of a good deal.

If you live in GTA and want to know specifically where i got the injections, shoot me a PM and i'll let you know. The doctor was very nice, very well educated, and has a shitload of experience with this type of stuff. He knew what he was doing. He was 100x better than my derm who i got Restylane injections from last year. Fuck, i paid 1000$ for those injections of Restylane, what a fucking rip off.

Hi guys,

just wanted to ask how long you store any unused product for ? I know expiry may be 1- 2 years on some fillers, but just wondered how long you kept the product once some of it has been used ?

many thanks

Is there any limitation on how deep a rolling scar can be in order to fill it (almost) completely?
I have a couple of rather deep to very deep scars that I want to fill after my next round of subcision.
What filler would you recommend? Should I start with something more temporary like Restylane or Juvederm or go with Sculptra?

As long as the scar flattens out somewhat when you stretch your skin, you will have at least some result. I recommend Perlane over Restylane for deeper scars since it is thicker(though made from the exact same ingredients). I think it will work great after subcision, or so I hear.

Thanks to everyone for all the info on here... I've just read the entire 37 pages! wacko.gif

I'm going to try regular restylane as it's the only thing I can find easily. Maybe I'll get perlane when I have some more time and am patient enough to wait!

I have a few questions though, sorry if they've already been answered but this was a verrry long topic to get through.

1) My scars are shallow but do form a shadow... I think half are rolling while the others are more saucer-like. How deep should I inject in terms of millimeters? I know this is difficult to advise but I'm looking for a rough estimate as I have no idea and don't want to go too far. Those who have had success with this... could you give a rough measurement of how much of the needle you actually inject into the skin? The video posted on here looked really agressive and deep but it was done at an angle so I'm assuming it doesn't need to go that far if you're pushing it straight in. I've seen the cross section diagrams of the skin layers etc but unfortunately I'll have no such image of the inside of my actual skin(!) when doing this so don't know how far the needle will be going to get to each level.

2) It was mentioned that this should be done in natural sunlight but I usually find that my scar shadows are more noticeable in artificial light... natural sunlight seems to brighten up my whole face making it harder to see the shadows.

3) What before/after care should be used? I have an all-natural face wash... will this be enough? I'm just worried that another new product will make me break out.

4) Is surgical spirit ok to sterilize needles (and possibly face depending on question 3) or do I need to buy pure alcohol?

6) Would it be ok to inject scars that are still bright red? They have been there for a few months and I guess they will get lighter. Or should I just inject the older scars which are skin-colour and light pink?

Since my scars passed the "stretch test" they seem to be a good candidate for a filler. surprised.gif Do you fill the scar 100% in just one treatment session or do you do multiple sessions with each injection lifting the scar a bit more?
How long does the filler last for deeper scars usually?

1. I usually inject with 1/3 of the needle in, then pull it back out very slightly, then squeeze.
2. It's okay to do it under artificial light as long as you can see the scar
3. I would recommend a gentle face cleanser such as Dan's cleanser or CeraVe(which I use). I would avoid anything with SA until a few days after the injection.
4. I dont know what that is, I just use rubbing alcohol
5. Yes, it's okay. Although from my experience, injecting makes the scar redder.

The first time you do it, you may need to touch it up. What I recommend is to try one session. You will likely under-inject because you don't know how much to really inject. You scar may swell up at first, making it look like you overinjected, but don't worry. After a few days when the swelling subsides and you feel that you did not inject enough, touch it up with a little more.

Thank you, AcnePwns... is there any practical limitation on how often you can touch up a already filled scar?

Thanks acnepwns smile.gif

I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it now though... my foundation has salycilic acid in and I couldn't go a day without it, let alone a week! And does injecting really make scars more red? cry.gif

I would wait until the swelling fully subsides, so about 3-4 days

Can't you use a foundation w/o SA for a few days? You can definitely use SA after the injection but it may cause more irritation to the spots and may delay healing time.

As for scars being more red, that's only my own experience. Many people here have reported that it did not make their red scars more red.

So it has been nearly three months and I feel as if 30%-50% of the Restylane is there. Although it has subsided a bit, my scars look much better than it originally looked before the injection. I will do a touch up pretty soon with Perlane, a thicker version of Restylane.

Restylane has given me FAR more improvement than anything else has, though no perfect. I don't expect perfection though.

Love, if you can get back to me on this question asap that would be great. I plan to do another injection very soon.

Use antibacterial hand gel and/or wash hands with soap. You can use gloves but your hands don't actually go into your skin with the needle when injecting. I just wash my hands thoroughly with hand soap.

That is generic Perlane made in China. I'm not sure if I would want to use that, especially when I'm injecting it under my skin. I've seen generics go much cheaper than that anyways. For a little more, you can get the real thing.

So what is the difference with generics Perlane and the real Perlane?
