I did a 40% peel and was my 13th peel. At first my skin was red and dry, friday, and on saturday it is very dry, I wake up today on sunday and see that my face is flaky and like of like a wound. Afterwards.. around 12 this afternoon I notice my area that is burned is very soggy and moist and kind of rogue, it sticks up, it's weird.

Every hour I go..
Aloe Vera
Wait 15 mins
Moisturizer
Apply aloe vera over the spots

Can anyone explain what is going on now, it's all wet and soggy and moist, it's scaring me and I can't go to school like this, i'm crying now, please help, reply quick and give me a heads up, ty eusa_wall.gif

You probably put too much on or something and it's burnt right down so the skin is weeping maybe? Don't do another peel there for a while is my advice.

It feels like a sponge EXACTLY, how long will this take to get atleast skin level so I can atleast apply make up on to cover it up?

Can I keep doing aloe then moisturizer followed by a layer of aloe on top of area every 1 hour?

Maybe you shouldn't put anything on it for the rest of the day now and give it time to dry out. It'll probably crust over then and start healing.

I burnt a small area of my face with glycolic acid about 3 weeks ago and it's still healing gradually. It depends how bad it is really.

I'll put some polysporin and aloe on it but very little. Anyways, why does it feel like a sponge?

Have you burnt it a lot? Like is it really red? you might have burnt down to the softer layers or something and the skin might be weeing.. making it wet.

Oh it's not extremely, it's like a 5 or a 5.5 out of 10 and 10 meaning badly burnt. Maybe even a 4.

Is it ok to apply toothpaste and polysporin to dry it out.

i really think that 40% is way too strong for you...rather than doing glycolic peels, i recommend that you use a daily AHA moisturier instead- maybe 8% glycolic or something, it's much gentler and if you think about it, by using it everyday, 8% x 7days = 56% a week which is stronger than 40%, but spread out across the week so it doesn't harm your skin like one strong application (well this is how i think of it anyway eusa_dance.gif)

but for now, let your skin rest. Don't put anything else on to irritate it, maybe just some aloe vera gel with vitamin E...also take some Vitamin C tablets because VC helps with producing collagen that could heal wounds faster. But maximum of 2 a day i reckon otherwise you'll have problems relating to VC overdose! (Yes, there is such as thing as vitamin overdose, even if it is water-soluble)

Hope it all goes well at school!
