Hi . I am on Roaccutane, have been for the past 6 months and will be for another 3 months. My skin has been relatively clear for most of the treament but recently I have started noticing my red marks alot more. My skin tone around my shin ( where my acne mainly was), looks blothcy and uneven which makes it look kind of 'orange peely' (if anyone know what I mean) and as if it has an uneven texture thought it is smooth to touch. I am hoping that this is just the red marks and blotchiness from roaccutane as I didn't have this 'look' even when my acne was active. Has anyone else experienced these things being more noticable on Roaccutane? My derm has prescribed that I use a small amount of Differin on this area and said that it is caused by the sheerness of my skin at the moment??????

Anyway, if it is still apparent after roaccutane, I am really intersted in having some treatment to even up those areas. I am thinking either Laser or glycolic peels as I have read positive threads for both. I don't know what one to go for though. I have pretty sensitive skin so don't want to aggravate it and cause more problems for myself.

Can someone tell me, what is the down time from both (i.e. how red are you how much do you peel, do you have tohide away for ages) and what gives the best results on red marks, scars and wrinkles (as an added bonus) Also what are the recommended amount of treatments and how expensive?? I am in Australia

Thanks

yo. i'd love to help.. i'd suggest the laser treatments.. depending on how severe ur case is.. im can't trust my own hands lol.. i'd rather have the docs do the healin.. but yea.. its been 3 weeks now.. 2 treatments.. improvements are minor at this point.. it takes time i suppose.. i'll wait after the third treatment and another month to elapse.. if V beam doesnt work.. then sigh.. i guess IPL? yea so.. see for yourself.. try the V BEAM first.. then resort to IPL.. as from what I heard V BEAM treats the red marks well..

You can either go for a laser treatment, or you can first try a $15 glycolic acid peel. It's a lot cheaper, and you can order it online...
But what I heard is that you need to wait about 6 months after you finished you accutane course, before you can start with the glycolic & laser.

Who do I ask for a correct assessment of what I would need, my dermatologist or a clinic???? I know that sometimes dermos are sceptical of certain treatment though individuals have had success on them so if she discourages me where do I go for a second opinion, a cosmetic surgeon or a beautician or what??
