BUMP. so hows B24K and biochembabe doin?? havent heard from u 2 for a while. just want to know the results of these lights since u 2 have been on them for while. apart from Wolfkeeper of cos.

B24K said that it definitely helped, but gave up, it didn't give the clearance he was looking for.

He was using 2 lights for 20 solid minutes per day though; I consider that overtreating, for some reason the small sample we have says it doesn't work as well.

I recommend 10-15 minutes with just one light (on any patch of skin, you could do face and back at the same time or something). The UK study use 15 minutes per day; and they say you can apply it two sessions per day for 15 minutes each session.

Biochembabe used 1 light for 10 minutes or so, and she's done great, there's pictures on her website; she had relatively minor acne, and it cleared it very nearly completely. She doesn't come here anymore so far as I can tell because she doesn't need to eusa_dance.gif

My own face is about 95% clear at the moment. I get a few small spots occasionally, I spot treat with TTO enriched coverup makeup and I do the light 1-2x a day (lamp is getting old...). My skin is doing reasonably well.

^ that just makes me even more unsure. i mean, apart from u Wolfkeeper, the other members who tried this havent really had big success. well, apart from biochembabe, but she had minor acne to start with. but i have quite alot, well, alot. just not cystics or hard painful nodules. i didnt invest in this the first time i heard bout it, which was mid last yr or so, cos not many ppl on this forum seems to give it good cred. i mean even B24K stuck with it for 3 months but didnt get gud results.

maybe i sud just stick with CSR then. damn, i started reading this whole thread 2day. i was hoping at the end that both biochembabe and B24K will give it the thumbs up for everyone.

I GO FOR MY SECOND BLUE-U TREATMENT TODAY AT 6:30. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH YOU GUYS PAID FOR YOUR LIGHTS, BUT FOR 8 TREATMENTS AT A CLINIC THE COST FOR ME WAS 200.00 AND THEY GAVE ME A 50.00 COUPON SO IT WAS ONLY 150.00 AND THEY ARE GIVING ME A FREE MICRODERMABRASION AT THE END OF THE BLUE-U TREATMENTS. I AM SUPPOSED TO GO TWICE A WEEK FOR 4 WEEKS, 20 MINUTE SESSIONS. I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW HOW IT WORKS FOR ME.
THEY ALSO GAVE ME A 4 STEP PRODUCT CALLED SOLVERE, HAS ANYONE EVER USED OR HEARD OF SOLVERE?
THERE IS SOME INFORMATION ABOUT BLUE-U ON THE WEBSITE OF THE CLINIC I GO TO IN FLORIDA. THE WEBSITE IS DERMACAREUSA.COM

i mean even B24K stuck with it for 3 months but didnt get gud results.

B24K seemed to be using it too much. The instructions said use it for 15 minutes every other day or something, but he was doing 2 bulbs for 15 minutes each day so he had extra powerful bulbs. I worked this out at about 2 months into B24Ks treatment, but he refused to reduce the time, and I thought it wouldn't work very well, and it didn't. eusa_wall.gif

I actually found doing it less gave better results; like I was doing 10 minutes a day, and my acne seemed better than on 15 minutes.

Posh was another one, he used his box so much his face went red; and his acne wasn't good. Again, seemed to be wayyyyy overtreating; your face should *not* change colour at all; the red light is supposed to be anti-inflammatory, using the box so much it actually inflames your skin is not going to be good.

Anyway, we've got a new batch of people trying it out right now, we should have some more results in about 3-4 weeks.

On the other side of the coin, there's me, biochembabe, seamus, delboy. All have reported very good results.

Unless there's some snake oil products out there, most people should have a positive experience. Me, I've just ordered a SCI/Art blue bulb.

Is goodtz19 still around? I am looking at purchasing that same expensive acne lamp because I am desperate. Would like to know how his worked out? I have moderate/severe acne...is the lamp a waste for someone like me if I use it in conjunction with other therapies?

Light is light. There's no magic.

I don't see *that* much advantage to getting a better lamp right now- at most the treatment might take less time out of your day, a more powerful light means you can spend less time in front of the lamp.

I think that one of the light boxes might reduce the number of spots by 75%. If that's enough for you, go for it. You can use the lamps with other treatments though.

Maybe for moderate/severe you might try ALA with blue/red light at a derms office.
