Last week I went to meet my doctor, a cosmetic physician to have my TCA Cross done. Wow, after the procedure, I chatted wif her for half an hour asking her all about the available treatments for scars and redmarks. She was very honest and told me what works and what doesn't.

She told me about the permanent filler Aquamid that has been available for 10 yrs oledi. Any1 used this filler be4? Filler doesn't work on icepick. Too bad coz I have lots of them.

I enquired about IPL and what they do for redmarks. Theoretically she said it should work since it is within the wavelength. But practically she had tried on her patients but it doesn't get rid of their redmarks. However she told me it's very effective to treat hyperpigmentation.

Also asked about Vit C injection that's supposed to have whitening effect. She told me ViT C is a great antioxidant and would only help the skin defense against the effect of the sun. Whitening, she said may not be technically correct but she had patient who reported that their complexion improved a lot . However VIT C doesn't worked for redmarks.

Also asked a bit about needling. She has this needle that could penetrate 2mm into the skin to stimulate collagen. Since I am not interested in this procedure I din ask more.

So here's my TCA Cross experience.

I have mostly icepicks scars. The doc was very good wif her hand. She complete it very fast and the position was quite precise. She told me to expect no more than 50-70% after 6 CROSS. Since I know there's no 100% improvement, I'm okay wif it. The treatment cost only RM120 (USD 30) . I'm frm Malaysia .

I also ask her about TCA peel . She wasn quite reluctant to perform on me coz she had bad experience wif a few patients before. Asian skin pigment more easily than Caucasian skin. The highest she would go is 15%. I actually told her I am willing to sign document giving my approval . But that would be next time since she told me it's not recommended to do a peel and a Cross together.

Well, cherished that experience coz i dare not talk to any1 about my scars. Not even wif my best friends
