Can you tell me the name of the doctor in St. Louis who did the cross treatment on your skin?

Have you been pleased with the results? What was the cost?

Thanks.

Matt

CRUZ U IN UK, do u know of any docs who ll actually do TCA CROSS????? I can only find TCA PEELS being done

Also i think that if u can get someone who s got steady hand who s had procedure explained to them then this might eb fine

The only person i'm aware of in the uk is dr chu. I asked to be referred to him but am expecting a long waiting time on nhs so will probably have a go myself in a few weeks.

Isn't chu doing your cross snowman?

Yes he is mate had 2nd 1 done now but like you said it can be long wait till next appointment so at time is frustrating having said that guess you really should wait for certain amount of time before cross happens again to let collagen produce.

plus i m now hearing that it can take a good few weeks after scabs fall up to notice any sort of 'fill' of the scar?? any1 confirm this from experience??

Hi Snowman, I was just wondering if you were having good results with your cross? Anybody eles doing them? How are your good and bad results? I just finish reading this thread. It took me 4 days. WOW!

What would be the exact procedure for the TCA Cross method that most of you agree with has given the best overall results with a 100% TCA solution?

$125 is a pretty good deal, here in dallas 1 treatment alone is $500.00, i have not yet been able to find a better deal around dallas tx, in case anybody knows, please post. thx

You may or may not see improvement after the scabs fall off, collagen production will continue for the next few months, you may repeat after 30-45 days.

You may or may not see improvement after the scabs fall off, collagen production will continue for the next few months, you may repeat after 30-45 days.

Age changes the cycle; the older one is, the longer one should wait between CROSSes. I'd say wait two months at least between CROSSes for someone younger than 30. At 30-35, at least three to four months. Older than 35, wait at least four months between CROSSes. Collagen forms at much slower rates in the older skin and you'll damage the developing collagen if you re-CROSS too soon.

One should see improvement in the first month. If you see that your scars look worse, you may have inadvertently got some of the TCA onto the 'wall' of the scars, or on more intact skin. That's one of the real dangers of the TCA CROSS. If your technique is not impeccable, if you don't avoid sun exposure religiously thereafter, if you do not use Vaseline or Aquaphor or a thin film of antibiotic ointment/cream on the CROSSed areas, you may experience worsening of the scars.

Wynne I went to a derm. for the cross and so I don't think she made a mistake, for the sun exposure... I ride my bike to school and play soccer frequently and used sunscreen for the most of the time. I used Aquaphor for only about a week. Isn't the worsening of the scars normal? What other steps do I need to take in order to prevent any possible damage? Does smoking (1 cig. with a drink every few days) affect the healing process? Thank you.

I feel like complete crap guys, I just read a post about the doctor that I went too... and read that she is careless with the TCA cross, and i didn't feel like she did a great job either. And now its been almost 3 weeks, my face looks like crap...... please someone give me some kind of hope and that this is all phase of the healing process!!!

Hello everyone

I have been reading this forum for a while now and I am really happy for the people who have seen improvement from using TCA cross.

I have got couple of questions to ask.
how long do you leave the toothpick touching the center of the scar? some say they leave it till the scar frosts, some say they leave it for 1,2 seconds. eusa_think.gif

do you apply ReVive EGF right after the cross or do you wait till the scabs fall off.

Thank you so much guys.

I had a 100% TCA Cross Treatment on one ice pick scar about seven weeks ago as a test spot. Right after the treatment the scar looked bigger. It was like the scar had opened up a little and then a day or two later it filled in with a scab. After the scab fell off (a little over a week), the scar looked almost identical to its original size and shape, but I noticed a slight tightening and closing up of the edges as the weeks progressed. I had a follow up appt. six weeks later and the before picture did look a little worse although the progress was not huge. We decided to go for treatment number two on that scar and to try adding a scar from each part of my face. One on each check, beside my mouth, and on my chin. I think we did five altogether. I am being very careful and conservative because I didn't want to make any of the scars worse.

I am now starting to get excited about the possible results. After this last treatment, the scar that was treated a second time scabbed immediately and really appears to have closed up. I can now see how this might work over five or six treatments. None of the scars even the larger box car one my right cheek appears worse. All of them seem to be filling in with collagen.

I am in Houston, Texas and I am seeing a laser specialist for acne scars. She is doing the experimental TCA treatments for free until we can determine whether they will work or not. She has indicated that once we are past the experimental phase she will charge $150 a treatment (I think this is for each visit not each scar).

I had originally gone to her to find out about the Fraxel laser. She has suggested I wait until I get the full results of the Cross treatments and to see if the new combination fraxel co2 laser that just came out (Dec. 2007 I think) will give me better results. I'm a little older (39) and would also like a little toning of my skin as well. She thinks this laser may give me everything I'm looking for but once to get feedback at the big laser conference which is coming up this Spring.

Anyway, long post I know but I have looked so long for a treatment for my ice pick scars without any luck and to finally have found something is really exciting to me. I just wanted to share.

I am using a dr. in houston, tx that charges $150 a treatment. She is great. Dr. Melissa A. Bogle. http://www.lasercosmetic.com/ls-maps.html. I have done two 100% TCA CROSS Treatments with her. See my post a few minutes ago. R

are the results permanent from TCA?? or is this the kind of treatment where constant treatments are required to maintain the results?

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LET DERMS PLAY WITH YOUR FACE WITH TCA CROSS. IGOT AVERY BAD RESULTS FROM THIS METHOD .THE SCAR HAS LOST ITS OWN PIGMENTATION AND ENLARGED IN SIZE.WHEN IHAD RETURNED TO THE DERM HE CLAIMS THAT IFORCED HIM TO DO IT .ISPENT ALOT OF MONEY TRYING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH ANOTHER GOOD DERM.
