I recently have had my second TCA Cross method treatment from Dr. Bargman. I noticed on my first one that some ice pic scars that were close together kind of turned into one big scar and he got some TCA on the sides of the scars. Once they fell off, I noticed that there was a bit of a bigger "shallow rolling scar" afterwards. The second time around, he "painted" these NEW rolling scars to lift them.
Im worried that they will not lift and I will have larger, more noticable scars after all this! How was your treatment with him? Did you experience this also??? Please please let me know. If you did, did they lift within time?
Im so worried.

I don't know where you live in Canada - but probably some local dermatologists in your area may know about this. The doctor I went to is Dr. Howard Bargman - he is the head of the laser department at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto (416-493-0606). He has only tried this on 4 or 5 patients so far, but he said he was impressed with the results reported in a medical article he read. He charged me $150 each time.
Because of the redness, I can't really tell if there has been improvement yet - after the second treatment, he told me not to come back for 8 weeks so hopefully by then I'll be able to tell.

When you mentioned hydroquinone and Retin-A for redness, I was wondering if these might help me with another problem I have. I had dermabrasion done quite a few years ago and always kept out of the sun - but stupidly I got careless and got my skin sunburned last summer.
Now I have a real difference in the pigmentation of my skin - the dermabraded skin is alot whiter then the rest and this makes my scarring so much more noticeable. I thought this would go away with time but even after a year there is still quite a contrast in pigmentation. Before this I never even used to use makeup and noone gave me a second look , but
now even with makeup I get looks from people which makes me realize how more noticeable it is than before. Do you think hydroquinone and Retin-A would help lighten the darker pigmented areas - I am also wondering if IPL treatments might help.
Has anyone else with dermabraded skin had this problem?

I've not used it yet but i know others here have and they say that it is strong stuff, so be careful.

No idea why its less on ebay. Maybe she makes less money via her site and is just trying to even it up.
But her shipping was quick so i was more than happy with that.

So is there anything I need to do, or need to accomplish with my skin before actually trying this treatment?
Does anyone know of any data/statistics of: people who did it themselves vs. people who went to a doctor for this treatment, and which had better results?
If it's about the same result, I'd do it myself, if Doctor's result is better, I'd go see a doctor.

Well i would say that if you can get a doc to do it than that would be the best route. That would cost more of course but if you can get a doc who is experienced at it then its worth paying for imo.
On the other hand, if your a bit tight for cash and have researched this treatment really well (i would read most of this thread at the very least) then you could give it a go.

Hi Snowman, yes I just said be careful because of what I saw in that picture. TCA created a huge scar on her face. I've read it can be effective and I have purchased some myself, but the risks have prevented me so far from trying it. I wasn't saying don't do it, I just wanted readers here to see that other post with the picture, and to be careful.

The only person i'm aware of in the uk is dr chu. I asked to be referred to him but am expecting a long waiting time on nhs so will probably have a go myself in a few weeks.
Isn't chu doing your cross snowman?

Yes he is mate had 2nd 1 done now but like you said it can be long wait till next appointment so at time is frustrating having said that guess you really should wait for certain amount of time before cross happens again to let collagen produce.
plus i m now hearing that it can take a good few weeks after scabs fall up to notice any sort of 'fill' of the scar?? any1 confirm this from experience??
