Hi All, my forehead is terrible. I only have mild acne and milia, but I don't know how it turns to be this terrible.

Red marks are the new one, brownish marks have been there for months. And my skin everyday flake off itself in the marks area. And my red marks can easily turn into brownish marks. I don't have any scar anyway.... but whats the best advice for all these brownish marks to be gone and for my skin to return normal again as it always flake off.

Not exactly dark so should fade within a month. Oh, forehead skins tend to recover quicker than face skins from my experience.

Off topic....but for some reason, I've NEVER had acne on my forehead...only on cheeks, nose, and chin. My forehead is super clear and smooth. Wonder why I was never affected there.

This is a reply i wrote up a while ago. I saved it coz i had a feeling someon else might of had similar probs [if some parts dont sound right, just ignore them, it's probably something the other guy had that you don't have].

"O.K honestly its to hard to tell. Although it's very similar to my forehead, I have to say I can't tell if they are indented scars or are just the natural folds in your skin, you can figure this out yourself:
-Get a mirror
-Make sure its a sunny day
-Go outside directly under the sun
-Look at your forehead [ignore the redness] and you should be able to notice elevations in your skin, check for holes or indentures

If you have lots of indented ones you'll have to check in the scar forum, however I think:
-Dermabrasion
-Needling
-Laser
-TCA cross
-Punch incision

Are all for that particular type of scaring [some might not be and there could be others treatments I missed]

As for the red marks, just pray the majority are because they can be fixed much easier by:
-Time [different for everybody, some take weeks some take years]
-Chemical Peels [Glycolic, alhpa hydroxy, AHA and other weak/light peels will tone it down considerably after 6+ applications, however 1 or 2 TCA peels will do a more effective job plus evan out some of the more shallow scars].

TCA can reach depths of the skin that light peels cant'. So not matter how many light peels you do, they can only do so much before they can't reach the deep down color/pigmentation. TCA peels [25-35 percent] are probably your best bet, they will go down into the skin where lighter peels can't [1, 30 percent TCA is equivalent to 5, 70 percent glycolic peels].

I had 6 glycolic[40 percent] peels with 6 microdermabrasions. Don’t go near micro by itself because its to weak to do anything alone. I had micro done first then 5 minutes later the peel was poured on [stung like hell]. After 6 of those I had about a 40-60 percent reduction in my redness. I wanted more results so i waited 4 weeks then got 3 photo facials done [i don’t know what kind of results the photo facials got because i stayed off my medication too long and the acne returened during the treatment and I couldn't tell, however I imagine the results had improved].

I'm having my TCA [30 or 35 percent, haven't decided yet] in late August then I might follow it with another TCA peel 4 weeks later. TCA is really good however there are risks: scaring, hyper pigmentation, hypo pigmentation. But as long as you have light colored skin, haven't been on Rocutane for at least 6-12 months, came off topical retinoids for 1-2 weeks prior, developed a tolerance for your skin with previous lighter peels and stay out the sun before, during and after the treatment then you should be a.o.k!

First figure out how bad your scaring is then go from there."

Hope this helps out.

Oh and if you have active acne get that under contorl before scar treatments. I use isotrex [a topical retinoid] it should work great for you if you have mild/moderate acne.

Now it makes three. well not really. i had acne on my forhead before but just like one or 2 but now i've been having quite a few since i been actually cleaning it... in the past i just washed it with water and soap while putting BP on the other areas of my face. and when i did put BP on my forhead it seemed to get worse.
