Hi,

I am half white half black-skinned. And my pimples always turn into dark spots after I popped them (yeah I know i shouldn't and i will never evereverever..... doubt.gif ).
So does Benzoyl Proxide really bleach out these dark spots?
Thank you.

*prays that it does* eusa_pray.gif

I'm not black but my skin is fairly tanned and overall I'm a dark guy, especially in the summer, so I have dealt with the same issue as you (dark spots.) I would say NO it does not bleach out the spot but it can prevent them! biggrin.gif One product I tried was a Sulphur based mask product, about two years ago, and that temporarily bleached the spots I kept it on (as a spot treatment.) It totally sucked though, I don't know why you would want to bleach your spots to make them lighter? Your better off just letting them fade out naturally with time. So if you want to try doing that you can but I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, I don't only use it for bleaching out my spots, but I do use it for my acne. I just thought it could ahve a nice side effect.
I mean we know it bleaches your Shirts and Towels, so why shouldn't it bleach out spots?

Hey ThinkPink finally somebody like me...im half white and black too!! smile.gif I've been on the regimen for about a week now. I had the same exact problem, I always get dark marks and i make it worse most of the time bc i'm a picker...gross i know. But anyways I've noticed that the BP gel actually does lighten the marks...I mean its not a miracle difference but what is. Have you tried anything else that has lightened your marks?? It's cool to read somebody on here who has the same complexion and problem as me.

Hey, I'm new to the board, but I'm also mixed and having the same problem. I know that Neutrogena has just came out with a new product called Neutrogena Advanced Solutions- Acne Mark Fading Peel with Celluzyme. It's got some really great reviews, so I asume it works good. Hope I helped! eusa_dance.gif

I've only tried te Oxy stuff, and yes it did help.
I wasn't sure if the gel does the same thing, I've only used it since 3days or so. Thank god there is a black-whitey like me in this forum. biggrin.gif

I tried the Neutrogena Fading Mark thing a bunch of times i dont think it really did anything. It says ur supposed to use it for 8 weeks but i dont have the patience to do that. I've also used mandelic acid and i think thats helped. First i used the 10% stuff and thats pretty mild so i would use it every night for like a week here and there. I'm really bad at staying consistent with stuff. But it did make a difference...not a miracle or anything. I used a 15% solution and that was really strong...it made all my skin like peel off. I couldn't leave the house for several days. But once my skin peeled off, it then got really red, then my skin was pretty smooth and my dark marks were lighter. I'm starting to look into using a glycolic peel cause thats more serious and makes a big difference.
