This thing worked for me.........

I do this:
Cleanse
Vinegar and water. 1:2
Bp 5%
Moisturiser

And offcourse lemon-water

Would recommend people to try this, but don't expect miracles the first couple of days.

I have been skulking about the forums for a while now, looking for a 'natural' method to improve scars and decided to give this method a shot.

About two years ago, I started this:
1:4 vinegar to water ratio. Applied every morning and night.
Throughout the day, I would drink a lot water (no lemon).
After about a month or so, my scars seemed to be definitely improving, I was shocked!. I did this for about 8 - 10 months. During this time, I also changed my diet. I avoided eating chips as much as possible. Avoid eating most things greasy. No fast food. Lean meats. Peanuts, peanut butter, veggies, organic stuff, a lot of green tea drinking.

Then for about 9 months, I have not been applying the vinegar. But my skin seemed to stay healthy and scars were still less noticeable. My diet remained the same.

Now I am in college. I have lest very little time, and have become very stressed due to homework and deadlines. Pop, I've been drinking a lot of that lately also. Tonight, I came back to my room, I looked in the mirror and said to myself "Oh my god, my skin looks horrible!". So I thought I would come back to this thread.

I have found that for myself, eating properly and drinking a lot of water makes my skin look healthy and plump. It also seems to hide my scars fairly well. However, when I am stressed, my skin color seems to fade and the scars seems to highlight themselves even more.

I like the way my skin looks in the morning. I hardly notice my scars. I'm not sure if it is the sunlight's doing, or getting sleep that makes the skin plump. But I definitely love sleeping and would encourage it.

But in the end, it seems like this method is only a temporary fix. I don't think it actually makes the scars disappear. This is what I learned over the past two years. I have learned a lot about myself, and these are my two cents.

I would not reccomend trying this if you have highly sensitive skin, and/or are on Retin-A. I meet both of those categories, and I tried this for 2 days. My skin became rediculously more sensitive, so when I put on the Retin-A in burned like hell, and it caused a lot of excessive drying and peeling of the skin all over my face. I stopped using Vinegar/Water solution. I was using 1 part Vinegar 2 parts water. I use .025 Retin-A Gel.

I haven't gone through this entire thread, but has anyone experienced any adverse effects after applying the ACV, and does this get rid of the red marks that are left after a pimple was popped? I don't have acne, just a few pimples that pop up every now and then. I just want to make my skin look better

Ok, i started using the apple cider vinegar method. But i have a quick question. Some ppl say that if you put acv all over your face it will work, but some others say that it works better if you just put the acv only on the scar areas/pimples and not on the unharmed/unscarred/ skin. Is it because if u put acv all over your face that the acv will work by renewing the skin by deepening it to make it smoother- so wudnt the scar get deepened too thus getting you no results? So would just putting acv only on your scarred area be better and get u the results? I dont understand how acv works at all, cud sum1 care to explain to me? How shud i go by putting the acv on my face? Appreciate any reply eusa_whistle.gif

Hrmm, interesting home remedies. Although i might be a bit scared of the lemon, sounds quite harsh to me for some reason. But than again with all the other things like tretinoin and such ive tried these remedies sound like worth a try. Ho humm.. whatever works!

Where I am from, ppl rub calamansi juice on their face and it does work. Ask any filipino about calamansi juice as a treatment for skin and they will tell you that alot of ppl use it. It is pretty much the same as washing your face with water mixed with vinegar solution.

be careful while using apple cider vinegar on your face. I once diluted and used it on my entire face at night. when I got up in the morning, my face was red (beyond belief) and full of shallow scars. It took a few days for the redness and the scars to disappear. Fortunately, the scars caused by the vinegar disappeared. because vinegar is a kind of acid, it can burn your face, leave permanent scars or cause irritation.

Instead of drinking lemon water, mix 2-3 tablespoons of ACV with a cup of water and drink it 3-4 times a day. It has a lot of health benefits and will help clear/prevent oily/acne skin. Check out www.earthclinic.com for more info. Hope this helps!

Definitely organic ACV. You can use it as a toner at night too, just let it dry after applying and then use your usual night cream.

I started using ACV a couple of days ago.
I'll let you guys know how it works.
So far it brought two of my cysts to a head.
Does anyone know why it does that?

I really want something like this to work for me, but after reading through almost all of this topic (yes i have devoted a great deal of time to this haha) I am still confused on which type of vinegar i should use. At the start of the topic it seems like people are using any type of vinegar, but all the newer posts have been about apple cider vinegar.

PLEASE, if anyone can clarify if you can use any vinegar or just ACV it would be muuuuuuuuuch appreciated eusa_angel.gif

Note: I finished my course of Accutane about two months ago, is it safe to use this vinegar/ lemon water method? I feel like all i can do at the moment is watch my scars stay the same, but not treat them sad.gif

ITS MY LAST YEAR OF HIGHSCHOOL!!! eusa_boohoo.gif (this is where i act really dramatic so i get my point across, even though i'm pretty sure everyone gets it...)

Thanks to anyone who replies.
