I've started an experiment. Often, it's hard to tell which product is helping when you are using different products at once. So what I've started is to put copper peptides on one side of my face before I go to sleep and use the vinegar on the other. That way I'll see if there's any dramatic differences between the two methods.

Maya, or anyone who knows their knowledge about this.... Do you think that my scars would respond well to this method?

My pictures:

Also, is the vinegar doing the work on the scars? If so what is the true purpose of the lemons--- to keep away acne?

Thanks, good luck everyone! =D>

What type of scar are you treating LAET? The reason why I ask is I'm a bit confused on your experiment. Usually, AHA or BHA is used and then later in the day copper peptide is put on afterwards. The AHA does a good job of removing scar tissue and copper peptide does a good job in bringing in new tissue. If I'm not mistaken, the acids and the copper peptides both do the same thing (remove old and bring in new) but the acids are better at the removal and the copper peptides are better at the bringing in---so that's what makes acids and cp work well together. Vinegar is a natural AHA (about 7%).

Tai - LOL!! :-s I'm sure this girl is not lying - she was keen to pass on her tips, she understands the suffering.

Skimz - just get Robinsons lemon barley squash - all UK supermarkets sell it.

LAET - I totally agree with Catlover - since you are doing the lactic peels - for your experiment, do the following - one side, do the vinegar every day, one side do the lactic peel once a week - apply the peptides to all face.

Yeh I was wondering that. It seems a bit hard to believe that vinegar and lemon juice could do that when all these surgical techniques can't seem to.

I'm not saying that this method will work for everyone - I feel it is unlikely to work for my deep pits... but it worked for this girl and it's cheap, so what harm does it do with trying this out?

And... please, no more questions about "how to..." It's all been answered, you have all the info I have. Just read the thread and if you want to try this, do so, you only have a tiny bit of money to loose. (And I guarantee... I have no stocks and shares in the lemon/vinegar market. O:) )

jamie10 - since you are also the same poster known as Bez - I assume that the Parkistani scar cream doesn't work.

toenail - I appreciate your astute observation =D>

wow--Bez is back! Let's not even get going on that one...

But, back to this topic...

I have also been doing vinegar on one side of my face, and a Vitamin K cream on the other. This is after washing and before applying retin a. I have noticed a reduction in redness on both sides :D/ , and an amazing reduction in wrinkles around my eyes on the vitamin k side. (oh, and the water 1.5 L a day w/about 3 tbs. lemon juice) So far, so good!! Wow! Thanks Maya!

skimz - the lemon barley drink (which needs to be diluted anyway) is 17% lemon juice and 2.5% barley flour. You're right, not only does it have a lot of sugar in it, it also conatins artificial sweeteners.

njinco1 - great, glad you are seeing results.

Hi, I'm new here and tried the vinegar and lemon water for about a week, but I broke out in hives and a scaly rash on the perimeters of my face--my good skin. I have some scarring in my T-zone area so I decided to just apply the vinegar there. Just want to let those with sensitive skin know that it can cause irritation. My skin is sometimes on the dry side anyways in parts, but oily in the t-zone. I have a few shallow scars and it seems like the vinegar exfoliates them pretty good so this may really help them. thanks alli

Hi people,

Okay my face has pretty much healed from the "intensive peel" I gave it. At first I thought my skin was actually looking better but as it heals more and more it's looking pretty much the same (ie, I still have plenty of shallow scarring) though some of the scars do seem a bit more shallow (or maybe that's wishful thinking). I AM SO DEPRESSED! ](*,) ](*,)

Anyway, I am seeign a doctor this coming saturday for a consultation on what to do to get rid of the scarring.

I am leaning towards getting microdermabrasion. Anyone know if this will help shallow scarring at all?

Also, I am doing the vinegar every morning and night (following with copper peptides) anyone know if this will make my skin irritated by the microdermabrasion? Maybe I should avoid the vinegar and copper peptides the day before?

Vinegar eh? I gave it a try. I recommend you dilute it. Don't get it near the eyes, b/c even the fumes from the vinegar made them burn a bit. :-& I was wondering, how many times a day can you do this? Would doing it more than once a day ruin the ph of your face?

MaryTheres - microderm is not usually successful for scarring.

Solid_Snake - vinegar actually restores your skins PH. But I guess doing it more than 3 times a day would over exfoliate.

Hey Maya (blueeyedbia=Wally) and everyone. I haven't been around in a long time, but this site is cool; a lot of international people. Anway, I have been following the vinegar/lemon thing juice for about 4-6 days, I don't remember when I started it-and it has been awesome. I've had acne for 5 years and have been on everything, including Accutane. Nothing had really worked long term for me, so I am excited. My forehead was filled with all these spots and most of them are gone, now they're are just tiny bumps that I am sure will go away. My nose is covered in blackheads, literally every pore and extremely shining. Using the vinegar/water thing, the blackheads look like they are about to pop out or something-gross but cool (Accutane was the only thing that could do this, and this has only been a week!). And one of the best parts, (I was using Tazorac on my face, which made my face discolored all over) the huge pores on my inner cheeks and normalized color and look a lot better-most of the blackheads in them are going away. I have rough skin, and on my cheeks there is some indents, mostly real shallow so I don't know if I would call it scarring, but they seem to be smoothing out some, although it is too soon to tell.

I am excited. I am just praying that this thing doesn't blow up in my face or anything :-. I am actually thinking about sharing this with my mom, since it is mother's day and all.

Here is what I do. Before yesterday I was using Flavorite cider vinegar (only 88 cent (US)) and just dabbing it on the problem areas adn then I would throughout the day drink water with lemon juice (the bottled kind, I know it isnt the best, but I'm not going to squeeze the lemons all day!!!). Yesterday, after I read all ten pages of the post, I went and got some Heinz distilled white vinegar ($2 US). (I know cider vinegar is the best, but I was curious so I got this too). I put got a bottled water bottle and put soem water, cider vinegar, and white vinegar in it and then that is what I use for spots.

Sorry to ramble on, I haven't been this truly excited in a long time. The funny thing is I have tried these two things in the past, separately, and they both didn't work.

Just a caution: I'm a guy, and when I shaved, I stupidly put the vinegar over the area where I shaved after I just shaved. It stung really bad, I had some flaky skin there this morning, and there are some red bumps. So avoid putting this on freshly shaved skin. :D

Good luck to everyone!!!

I have been using apple cider vinegar on my face for almost a week now and I can definitely see an improvement - I am amazed. I wash my face with a mild cleanser and then pour a little bit of the vinegar into the palm of my hands and rub it on my face while it is still damp. I do not wash it off.

I have seen a definite improvement in skin tone - I think it's still too early to tell if my scars are getting better (trying very hard to be objective and not report any placebo effect).

As a side note my hands are definitely a lot softer than they were a week ago.

Very happy with vinegar so far! =D>
