- If you also have those unsightly blotchy red marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) that just don't seem to fade: 10g (2 teaspoons) MSM (sulfur powder available at any vitamin store) diluted in 1 large glass water; drink it down all at once. Do this every day until red marks fade completely. This combined with the other supplements below, especially the vitamin C, will more or less COMPLETELY clear red marks if taken daily for MINIMUM 2 months. (Just see my own photo below for the complete change in skin tone if you don't believe me!

I'm more concerned with my red marks and their ability to scar (those little indentation scars) than my active acne. Can I simply benefit from my normal diet (I don't specifically concentrate on eating organic or ultra-health foods, but I do eat a balanced and pretty healthy diet) by doing this 10 mg of MSM each day?

Thanks!

Tristam

By taking MSM, will it even your skin tone as in fade red marks/hyperpigmentation/dark marks/blotchy skin?

Can you mix the MSM powder with juice?

Are capsules basically the same as the power?

Thank you~

You can mix MSM with whatever. I'm not sure whether or not pills are less effective, but the powder form is MUCH cheaper while being easier and faster to take. I recommend powder.

Antony... So this is where you've been ... keeping busy I see biggrin.gif

your thoughtful posts have always impressed me and I'm just elated that you found such a great solution. Your story may be an inspiration to people who don't want to use Accutane for whatever reason... and your pictures look incredible wub.gif

sorry if this has already been asked but...that 3 day apple fast...did it give you a dramatic clearing in itself, or is it just something necessary to remove the toxins before you can proceed to clear your skin? I was just wondering what your experience was with the acne dropping off, in relation to the fast.

thx Antony, talk to you soon.

No offense to you or anything but this program that you follow sounds a lot like Leo Kiesen's program. Were'nt you the one that said that his program was crazy and impossible to follow. Well anyway, I believe that your routine works but honestly I dont have enough time for it and to tell you the truth, i'm kind of scared of that enemas thing. I just want to know if you have any idea how to make the routine more simple. I have mild acne that goes away then comes back and I wanted to know if theres anything to help me. Thanks a lot.

Everyone is afraid of the enemas. God forbid something goes up your ass, so taboo!
I started this diet then realized how ridiculous it is, so I stopped. I like to live my life with no restraints, and I decided my very, very moderate acne was not worth changing so much for.

I hated the cucumber fast as well. I was looking forward to the enemas; atleast it'd take my mind off the gross food I was eating.

His guide will definitely detox you, and lose weight, but dont always expect it to do more.
If you are desperate, I'd rate his guide 9/10.

As for your enema concern. Honestly, do you ever poop? Does pooping scare you? Didn't think so...
I think the worry you have comes from being close-minded. If I know anything in life it's that anything related to your ass people will look down upon and stay away from. It's just how we have been brainwashed to behave.

My moms friend gives me free microdermabrasions and face peels. I'm gonna stick with that for the next 6 months and hope that she is right about acne not being diet related but bacteria related. If it fails, then I will definitely come crawling back to this guide.

Well I don't like enemas because ass-douching makes you lose control of your bowel, and is generally a last-resort solution to severe constipation. It's really quite bad for you. For me it has nothing to do with the concept of things going against the grain, so to speak. It's not brainwashing.

I was just on the verge of buying Leo Kiesen's e-book when something told me to hold back. The language used in the advertisement for the book smacked of a "mock auction" scam. It's overfamiliar tone and its unnecessary flannel and flim-flam was enough to set the alarm bells ringing. Sounded too much like hype and tripe! Were this programme really WORTH something, would it not be presented in a more professional light?
I know not to judge a book by its cover (I am a librarian) however I have gleaned enough information from this forum to understand the key elements of Kiesen's philosophy. Having read what I understand to be Antony's "simplified version / variant" of it, I dread to think how cumbersome and time-consuming the full-on regimen must be to implement! I mean, how would I actually find time to have a LIFE when I am so busy with my right leg in the air, eating apples and dosing myself up with all manner of laxative / purgative concoctions? I thought to myself "ya maybe the people pushing this "cleansing" approach really DO need to cleanse - cos they are full of s**t!" ............HOWEVER there does seem to be something to it. And just look at Antony's "before / after" photos - the difference is AMAZING! Clearly something happened to bring about such a marked improvement.

I am male, have just turned 29 yet still have acne. Though it is much, much better than during my adolescence I still have many blemishes, flare-ups and imperfections. My skin regreases (not sure that's a verb in English, but who cares?) very quickly.
I tried the whole range of lotions, potions, creams, antibiotics, to no avail. I tried Roaccutane when I was 18 but had to stop after 3 weeks as it made me have bouts of temporary blindness (almost caused me to crash my car). I have tried Aramis laser treatment - all to no avail. I tried accupuncture - useless. I went to the dermatologist here in Paris who said that Roaccutane was the only answer. I explained about the problems I'd had before and she said I would "just have to put up with it" if I want to improve. I found her spurning approach towards alternative treatments somewhat unsettling.

So before going through the Roaccutane nightmare again I am on my own regimen which comprises:

*Milk thistle tincture, dandelion tincture and echinacea tincture in a cup of nettle tea 2x per day.
*Silica tablets, multivitamins, garlic tablets, celery seed tablets, aloe vera colon cleanse tablets (from Holland and Barrett)
vegetable tablets (10 different vegetables), spirulina tablets, lecithin granules, evening primrose oil. Fibre tablets.
* Green clay mask once per week.

I use the "T Pur" products from Biotherm to cleanse and hydrate my skin (they are among the best I have tried)

Fingers crossed it may help as I really don't want to go through the Roaccutane thing again - although I would do just about anything to resolve this acne. I think I have have tried everything but would be grateful for any suggestions re: other possible treatements.

I am so pleased to have discovered this forum. It is comforting to read of peoples' experiences of all the curious (often spurious) remedies and treatments out there. The thing that annoys me about acne - it's so incinsistent. I know people that smoke and drink and eat **** and yet they look GREAT! I have never smoked in my life, have a very good diet and yet I look like this sad.gif.
Oh well.... better go have my nettle tea now! Bye!

I just wanted to bring this regimen back up to the top and let other people know about it. I have been following the cleansing method portion and plan to start the supplementation and it is amazing the difference in my skin. I know it sounds complicated, but I think it's worth doing something you KNOW will work as opposed to bouncing from mediocre regimen to mediocre regimen, never completely solving the problem. Anyway. just check it out, if nothing else, it'll just give you a few ideas you can incorporate into your existing routine.

Thanks for bumping this one up.

I am on the program taking all supplementations plus more ( DIM, taurine, CDG etc.), but not doing the cleansing routine every step everyday -- i really need kick my own ass more on this front.

I did my first fast-flush 1.5 week ago.

Anyway, the progress on my skin-- still hard to tell at this point....I still get break-outs but they may be ones already underneath the skin that need to come out anyway. i will keep you posted.

I do have a few questions for the holistically savvy acne warrior here and for Anthony (but he seemed to have disappeared from this thread cry.gif

1. I am confused about the Vitamin A dosage:

In his program, 15,000 IU of Vit A, two times per day is prescribed. That is in total 30,000 Vit A per day. Dermamed nutrition for troubled skin (used to be called phytome, but not anymore i think) has 150 IU of vitamin A per capsule, and the program says if taking DermaMed, then reduce vit A supplement to 10,000 per day, that makes a total of 150 IU + 10,000 IU = 10,150 IU/day

This number, 10,150 seems very different than 30,000 -- less than half...

Anyone has any thoughts on this? Anthony?

2. About the liver Fast-flash:

the 3-day apple fast is difficult for me. I did many research on the internet re liver flush. Many of them suggested to drink as much apple juice as possible for the 7 days preceding the flush, but no fast. is there a particular reason that the 3 day Edgar Cacey raw apple diet is necessary or superior than no-fast-but-lots-of-apple-juice for 7 days ( so the mandelic acid in apple will absorb toxin?)

The problem was i got so sick of apples that i did not eat much for day 3 or day 4 of the fast-flush --- therefore i had nothing - no weight - in my intestine to "push out" any stones, so to speak.

Anyone has specific knowledge on this, your sharing is appreciated. thanks.

2012,

In calculating vitamin A, never confuse micrograms, milligrams and IUs. This confusion is what sometimes causes overdoses of vitamin A.

Reread your information and be very careful.

0.15 milligram=150 micrograms=500IUs

edit: I looked up the dermamed and it seems to say that it is in the form of beta-carotene which is safer than pure A and is *usually* half the strength, so you'd 1/2 it to find the true retinol equivalency, unless the label is already giving the retinol equivalency (the website didn't show the label or the amount of each active ingredient, only that it is pro-vitamin A as beta carotene---so I don't know for sure, you'll have to do the math)
