I have tried various acne scar treatments over the past three years and have now found Dr Anthony Chu who practises at the Hammersmith Hospital. I wish I found him 3 years ago and definitely recommend him to acne sufferers in the UK.
I am having the Isolagen treatment by Dr Chu and will post information on the scar forum.
I have had scar treatments by two other doctors in London, the first being very well known and experienced. However, I definitely like Dr Chu the most. Besides being an acne specialist and extremely knowledgable in his field, Dr Chu runs an acne support group, invented the Dermalux lamp, conducts studies, does private and national health work. He is highly professional but also comes across as a very nice person. I feel he is the sort of Dr who will offer a treatment appropriate for the individual, rather than a treatment which will make him money.

Lola - what's his number? Also, does he offer a free consultation?

Maya, the number I have is 0208-383-3264 which goes to Dr Chu's secretary. I made my Isolagen appointment with her.
I had difficulty getting through initially and there is a recorded message on that number giving another number for appointments. I tried that number and was told that I would need a GP's referral first and the next apppointment available was in October.
I don't know if Dr Chu offers free consultations because mine was part of the Isolagen package that I am having. I know he does NHS work, but I don't know how one becomes eligible for that.
I can definitely recommend him. He's a very good doctor and a nice person.

Just in case anyone else is interested, the NHS appointment line is 0208 383 4821/5000 - when they get the GP referral letter, they will contact within 2-3 weeks with an appointment time. At present, the waiting list is only 3 weeks - do get a move on!!
