Hello everyone biggrin.gif .

I'm new to these boards, and I came in search of a good makeup that will cover up my red spots and blotchyness, but that obviously also is very light and doesn't clog pores. I have a really light complexion and am almost 21.

I used to be insecure about trying to wear makeup, for the fear that it would be thick or extremely noticeable or etc. But I tried some of my mom's on the other day (not sure what it was, some liquid type stuff, concealer maybe?) on a few of my red marks and I was simply amazed at what makeup can actually do! My girlfriend even asked told me that my skin looked great, and asked me what I did! It actually made me have a normal, even skin tone and you couldn't even tell it was on.

The only problem is that I'm pretty sure it's not a good one to use with my acne-prone skin, as my mother has totally clear skin and doesn't need to worry about such things. So I guess my question is, can anyone out there give me the names of specific products that I could use, preferrably liquid-based? I'm not planning on smothering my face in it or anything, just dabbing it on noticeable red marks. Sorry if this question is asked a lot, just looking for a bit of helpful advice.

I live in California, U.S. if that makes any difference on products available here. Thanks again!

It sounds like you tried your mothers foundation. Concealer is a lot thicker and not for all-over use. You should investigate what foundation she was using because normally, most foundations are non-comedogenic (meaning they won't clog pores).

If you want a really light coverage, tinted moisturizer is an option but it doesn't cover much. Covergirl makes a very sheer foundation called 'clean makeup' that you might want to check out. If you don't want all-over coverage, concealer is what you want. I personally love Almay's 16 hr concealer. It comes it light colors and literally stays put for 16 hours. It's not heavy and it looks natural. Just dab a little on the spots and you're good to go. You can find both of those at just about any major store.

Thanks for the input biggrin.gif . Maybe I'll try and look for the Almay Concealer at Walgreen's or something.

I've also read on the forums and it seems a brand called "M.A.C" is good. Anyone used that with any success?

Nick, seeing as you are a male, i would recommend a powder because that can be the most natural looking. I use bareminerals and it looks like youre wearing nothing but it covers all your little pink spots. i live in ca too and i see infomercials for it all the time at night er lik 2 in the morning. watch it its not a trick it really works so well and like youre wearing nothing! try it! everyone should!

and it would work well for light skin seeing as it has such blendability!hope this helps!
