Hi all! Long time reader, first time poster here...

I am wondering if anybody knows of a good makeup product that can be used to minimize the appearance of ice pick and shallow scarring, and fill in the ice-pick scars if possible.

All the redness in my skin disappears with just normal Cover Girl foundation. I don't really break out all that much anymore, but when I do, I can cover up the blemishes with no problem. But it's those danged indented scars that I can do nothing about.

Tried Dermablend and it just accentuates the problem.

I'm getting married in a couple of months, so I only need to use whatever it is for one day -- just want to look as good as possible for the cameras. cool.gif So, I don't care if it's horrible for my skin, as I won't use it on a daily basis.

Any help would be most appreciated! TIA

Hi! I really don't know too much about covering up ice pick scars... but I would suggest doing a little research, asking friends, and finding a good makeup artist in your area who can do your makeup for the day. I did this a few years ago for some professional pictures I was getting done... wanted my acne covered up as much as possible for the pics... I scheduled a "preview" of the makeup a few weeks before the real thing, just to make sure everything was going to look the way I expected, then went in the day of and it turned out great. Whole thing cost around $60 I think. Well worth it. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I actually did go to a professional, and I had a trial run, and I just wasn't too happy with the results -- I like the way my own makeup looks, and feels, alot better, so I'm just looking to supplement my routine. smile.gif About an hour after I left the salon, it looked like my face was melting.

Just realized I put a typo in the subject line.... lol.gif They really are more "ick pick" anyhow...

I've heard that MAC makes a good concealer that's quite heavy.
I've never tried it myself, but MAC is a good brand
and you can probably ask to sample a bit or something.
Good luck!

Can I say that I dab on Clinique Pore Minimizer befire my foundation and that does a great job of filling in large pores and ice picks.
I found it after some one had recommended it on here and it works a treat but you mustnt rub it on, rather dot it into the areas that want filling in if you see what I mean.

if you get a high % chemical peel and just dab it on the spot, it might fill out. I have some scars and whenever i put tca on them, they completely disappear for about a week. Of course, the downside to this is potential redness. But i honestly don't think anyone would notice one icepick scar.

On hsn. com they sele this stuff called non toxic silicone. It covers up wrinkles atrophic scars everything, and then you just put make up over it. I haven't tried it cuz my atrophic scars are mostly gone, but i've bought from there before and was really impressed. They showed a demonstration on tv and it looked incredible.
