Is it just me, or could you receive 10 compliments and feel great, then get one lousy insult like "you're ugly" and you go straight back to ground zero.
I dunno, it happens to me all the time.

I'll just stick with one look in the mirror to shatter my mood.

It's true, that can happen. But then you have to realise that whoever said that was wrong because there's 10 people that think differently.
Out of about 20, 000 people on this board, 19, 900 would think you are gorgeous and the rest of the people will either have a mental problem that makes them think stupid things or they are just jealous

yeah, if you made this thread because of an asshole that called you ugly, ignore that person and remember that the majority gave you positive compliments regarding your appareance.
I usually ignore the negative compliments like 'your ugly', since they usually comes from assholes. A compliment that can shatter my confidence are adivces for acne or stuff like that.
If not enough, look at the mirror under good lighting, I feel better when I do, because in my opinion I'm not ugly.

I don't think I look half bad under good lighting ^_^
Too bad public places dont have the same lighting.

yeeaah,
my parents always say wow your acne is looking better, or your acne isn't there. I'm like, dad, there are no lights on! Then he just kind of shuts up, because he knows it! LOL. We have all this dim lights in our house, so i feel kind of confident, unless of course i look too close,

This is absolutely true in my case as well. People will treat me nicely for days and all it takes is one odd look from a girl and I'll hit rock bottom again. It's delayed though, I don't feel so bad when it happens, but when I get home I dwell on it and it wrecks my mind.
