Hey,
All of the below are homoeopathic remedies to treat acne:

Antimonium tartaricum: This remedy may be helpful for acne with large pustules that are tender to touch, with bluish-red marks that remain on the skin after active infection has passed. The person may be irritable, with low resistance to illness.

Calcarea carbonica: If a person with frequent pimples and skin eruptions is chilly with clammy hands and feet, easily tired by exertion, and flabby or overweight, this remedy may help improve the skin’s resistance to infection. People who need this remedy are often very anxious when overworked, and have cravings for sweets and eggs.

Hepar sulphuris calcareum: This remedy may be indicated when the skin is easily infected, slow to heal, and painful eruptions like boils appear. The pimples are very sensitive to touch and slow to come to a head; eventually, offensive-smelling pus may form. A person who needs Hepar sulph is usually chilly, sensitive to cold in any form, and feel irritable and touchy.

Pulsatilla: This remedy can be helpful if acne is worse from eating rich or fatty foods, and aggravated by warmth or heat. It is indicated especially around the time of puberty, or when acne breaks out near menstrual periods. The person often has a fair complexion and is inclined toward soft emotions and moodiness, feeling worse in warm or stuffy rooms and better in fresh air.

Silicea (also called Silica): A person with deep-seated acne along with a general low immune resistance, swollen lymph nodes, and a tendency toward fatigue and nervousness may benefit from this remedy. Infected spots are slow to come to a head, and also slow to resolve, so may result in scarring. A person who needs this remedy is generally very chilly, but inclined to sweat at night.

Sulphur: Itching, sore, inflamed eruptions with reddish or dirty-looking skin often indicate a need for Sulphur. Itching may be worse from scratching, and worse from any form of heat—especially bathing or washing. Individuals who need this remedy are often inclined toward convoluted mental notions and tend to give order and neatness a low priority.

Also, Hydrastis Canadensis is supposed to be good for break outs on the chin. Anyone interested in homeopathy for acne should go to the abchomeopathy.com web site, go to the bottem of the homepage and click on the "A" under user entered remedies, then look for acne on the list. when you really get into it, its kind of weird because alot of the symptoms don't have as much to do with the acne as the "whole person".
I didn't really understand why the color and fregrance of my urine, or the texture of my earwax mattered. But then I read that the idea behind the homeopathy for acne is that the acne(as well as some other skin disorders) is what happens when the internal organs try to expel crap(like disease, toxins, whatever). So to cure the acne, you have to fix the internal problem. They say that topicals drive the crap back in, therefore never really getting to the sorce of the problem.
My acne is pretty much cleared on its own, although Im concidering taking the Hydrastis Canadensis when I am done with the Silica I am taking for my scars. Good luck to all of you on finding your own cures!

Hey, has anyone taken calcarea sulphurica? It's a homeopathic remedy that I found while browsing a healthfood store. I bought some because it's labeled to be for boils/acne.

Ok! update... (drum roll por favor)

This stuff almost seems to be too good to be true. So far my skin heals faster after getting blemishes and my ear infection(?) thingy seems to be improving. I had been taking zinc, msm, vitamin c & e supplements which are supposed to aid in healing, but this calcarea sulphurica stuff seems to be doing the most for me.

here is a clip explaining it from a website.

Suggested Use:
Used for pus discharge and slow to heal wounds. A yellow film may appear on the bottom of tongue. Other symptoms include swollen glands and a burning sensations on the bottoms of feet. Symptoms are better in fresh air, and worse in cold, wet weather.

Halfbreed, how long have you been on the calc sulph, and what is its potency? Calc sulph may just be the right remedy for you. That's awesome.

Faith, you know it's really strange. There was no potency labeled anywhere on the container. The dosage on the bottle thing was 5 pellets 3 times a day.
I was kind of skeptical about taking this stuff because it's in a base of sucrose and lactose, but I took it on a whim since my skin had broken out afer I had been on a (what I thought) ideal diet/meal plan, so I figured I had nothing to lose. But it acutally helped despite the sugar it contains!
Had you tried this before or was planning on it?

A while back when my skin was a lot worse, I tried calc sulph, but only stayed on it a couple weeks and switched to sulphur which I found helped a lot. (I've been told to stay on the remedies for a month to know if they truly work.) Sulphur helped my acne-prone skin stop itching, and helped rid a lot of my acne (which was moderate). I stayed on it for a few months and found that it helped. I haven't used any remedy in a while, but I do have some calcarea sulph lying around, so that's interesting to know that it works for you, as I have read that it is a great remedy for teenage acne.
