I had acne since I was 13, but I never felt embarrassed till yersterday. I was on my way to my English class, but I had to use the restroom so I did. On my way out I looked in the mirror and saw my acne/red marks. I felt so embrassed that I didn't want to go because there is a girl I like in that class and she sits right beside me. So I decided not to go. I went into one of the stalls and sat there for 45 minutes. I don't know what to do. I hate my fucking acne/red marks. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Yesterday was the first day you've been bothered by it? It's bothered me ever since I had it. But that's neither here nor there. Restrooms do provide excellent cover if you need a place to hide at school or in public. I wish I had some advice to give but I don't. Just know that we're all in the same boat with you and that none of us know what to do anymore. smile.gif

Dont look in the mirror right before you have somewhere important to go to, usually it gets me down cause I usually look in the mirror in my house that makes me look better and Im on a high and feeling good. Find a good mirror in the house and exploit it and dont look in the school mirrors, they make everyone look bad, its the lighting...curse it!

I just cried this morning and that was my house mirror but anyway in highschool I did'nt even make to the bathroom I just cut....yeah but the worstest thing to do is to look into the bathroom mirror at school...avoid it at all cost!!! there was a point I had to stop looking in the mirror all together...if I did'nt i would'nt have graduated. But cant really give you that much advice but is too stay strong, and find away to avoid mirror's!!

I feel your pain, but from personal experience, I advice you to try to face acne emotionally in order to avoid having situations like this, it may not be easy, but once you can overcome the insecurities, you won't have too much to be sad about ...

I wonder if the bathroom lights are the same lights they have in the classrooms. If so, i'm sure i've scared a few people.

In my severe acne days I didn't look in a mirror ever. I tried to kid meself into believing they wern't that bad, so I didn't feel too depressed and could just about face the world. I remember at 16 i plucked up the courage to stare right into the mirror in the kitchen, which had a bright flouresant light in there, well i felt like killing myself after seeing my face covered in red marks and spots. So after that i went back to never using a mirror, luckily i never needed to style my hair in gel and all that shit, so i never needed one. So my advice is if a mirror makes you feel that bad, simply avoid them until it clears up, an just try and remain positive. "what you don't know can't hurt you" right?
