So anywyas, lately, ive been focusing on muscle gaining, specifically arms, and doing nothing but eating, and working out, but a couple of days ago, me and some friends went to go work out together after school in the school gym, and they all took off their shirts, and so did I, and at the time I was feelin good, but then when i seen everybody elses body, they were all trim and buff, and I looked like a trim weasel with little muscle.
Although, ive worked out hard, now I feel like sh*t once again. Almost like all that workin out made me feel worse, because now I want to be big again, and buff, and im just skinny now.
I dunno, i feel weird

- buy some dumbbells. Also good to do exercises wi th them if you're ever doing something like "watching TV" or a film
- increase your protein intake, these are things like meat, fish, eggs, ..
- join a gym, and go at least 2 times a week. after a work out have an ENORMOUS meal.
- get into the habit of doing at least 60 pressups/stomach crunches a day (this really does not take more than 10 mins)
- increase the number of meals you have in a day (to say 4 or 5)
- avoid fatty and "bad" foods (like fast food), you don't want to put the weight on with fat
Lastly, if you find you have a fast metabolism, buying some protein in powder form is a good idea - have it between meals.
Hehe, maybe NickC84 should be answering this?

oh yeh euler is right there is a difference between fat gain and muscle gain, it may be helpful to have ur fat to muscle ratio measured. it may be that u lost some muscle when u lost weight.

Sorry man, but some of that info your giving out is not that great. Honestly if you want to gain muscle and look "buff" like your friends, you should be doing a fullbody/isolation work out. Devote at least one hour 4-6 days a week into working out. Dont buy just dumbells, for one, if you just buy dumbells and workout primarily your arms, the rest of your body will not be in proportion. And please dont, just lift while watching tv etc. You need to conectrate on what you are doing and give it your full attention.
Also doing 60pressups/crunchies everyday isnt the best either. Your muscle's need time to rest and heal if you want any gains at all. There is such a thing as overtraining. If you overtrain a certain muscle too much you will not see any gains.

Okay. Although you're presuming too much from what I said.

I had just gained 10 lbs at the end of the summer and when I started taking accutane I had to stop working out. Very quickly I lost the 10 lbs and now I'm not comfortable with the way I look either
Everyone has good tips.

If your skinny(like me currently), but want to be bigger you have to BULK up. I was tipping the scales at 120 about a year ago and now am 145 and still gaining. That gain was not the best as I wasn't fully commited, not eating properly and taking to many breaks from working out.
Bulking up means eating more caloires than you use in a day. My intake in hovering around 3400 cals a day. I suggest the 40/40/20, 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat.
Good carbs include rice, potates, oats, vegies, fruits, pasta, beans.
Good protein is best found in lean meats like chicken, turkey, buffalo and fish, but soy is decent too.
Good food that have good fat are peanuts, flax, fish and olive oil.
I know this is a little vague, but its hard to train over the internet. Weigh your self every week and you should be gaining 1 pound a week and if you not, up the cals. Remember that gaining or loseing weight to fast is not good. Also, spread all these cals over 5-6 meals a day and not 3 big ones.
I think that diet is as important or more important than actually going to the gym. Like said earier, muscles grow resting and not when you work out. Now for the work out part.
Dont focus on small exercies at the moment. To get mass, you need to work the biggest parts of the body and the littler parts like forearms, biecpts and other small muscles will reap the benifits. Exercises like, squats, dead lifts, bench press, smith press, shrugs, rows and pulldowns are key. I remember when I tossed squats into my routein, my chest got stronger and bigger and my arms did too. This rush of hormones and testorone through the body makes all muscles feel it when you do big exercies like squats.
Ok, now thats a lot to read and if you didn't read it all or remember it, heres a rundown:
1. BULK up, 3000-3500 cals a day of clean food, cheat and have sweets every once in a while.
2. Do big exercies like squats, dead lifts, bench press and smith press.
3. Rest is good.
4. Do at least 3 days a week and go about an hour, overtraining is very common
5. Good luck and hope this helps you out a little
