it depends .. if she's a random woman, she was only trying to help.

if she's an employer at the supermarket, she might also want to profit the supermarket she's working for.

hey, where I'm from that is called rude so it never happens.

But in this case, the lady didn't mean any harm.

It would be annoying to be reminded about your face by others though!

Yeah... I tend to try and go buy my products either from a different store every time or at times when the same people aren't working... Somehow, I don't want them to remember me very well as a guy buying these products, espeically if it doesn't seem to be working.

I've gotten odd looks from the ladies at the supermarket though when I was standing there looking at facial products, and checking out at the register too was not pleasant... The people there seemed to look at me in a pitying and kind of odd way like... "Yeah its about time you started something... how did you go this long without?" kind of look... Maybe it's all in my head. I just tend to avoid everyone in these situations.

Hello all I am new to this forum, but not new to the pain acne has caused me. I have been fighting it for yrs now, and I would like to tell you it gets better, but what I have found is that it gets better and then can get worse. Whatever you do DO NOT USE EPICLEAR it ruined the progress in my skin and it broke me out and now I can't get rid of the mess it left behind including all of the redmarks. Just like you we are individuals and we have this embarassing problem for different reasons. My derm put me on Clyndamycin gel and Erythromycin. I use Neutragena oil free acne wash and defense day lotion by Neutragena also. My friend had cystic acne and she uses Differin and Elidel that worked for her, she has almost no break out at all. Good luck to all of you and if you have any advice please let me know. thanks red evil.gif

That's sad. I know people seem they want to help you. But, they really don't. They think they know everything but, that's not usually the case. I'm sorry that person made you feel bad. I know how you feel.

Don't feel bad Wikka, we all need to work on our reaction to sad and embaressing situations so we know how to best deal with them. In situations like that it's usually best to get the subject done with and if possible switch the topic unless you can avoid confrontation. Acne's tooken a toll on everyone including our ancestors when they faced it. So you're not alone.

in my experience, I went to our local supermarket to buy groceries. As I was leaving, some older guy (maybe 50 or 60 years old?) comes up to me and starts telling me to do something about my face! I was so embarrassed because there are lots of people in the supermarket. I told him politely no thanks...so i walked away but then he started yelling at me and telling me to drink more watr or sumthing! Then people started staring at me..of course who wouldn't?! I was sooo embarrassed and that made me cry. I think there will come a point where we will say that all this emotional crap isn't worth it anymore. Until then...at least we have this forum and support from people who are in the same boat smile.gif THIS PLACE HAS BEEN A REAL BLESSING FOR ME.

That's tactless bordering on rude. If i was in a pleasant mood, I would advise him all about viagra, and how to take it up a level.

Yeah, those supermarket ladies can be annoying, they are doing their jobs, and sometimes they mean well, but still.

ive had that happen before by salesladies and also random strangers. everything from drink more water to wash my face to whatever. its rude. acne brings out the rudeness in people that i didnt even know was there. during some moments when my skin was clear, ill admit, i got pissd off. all of a sudden people rolled out the red carpet. i was like, whats changed? im still the same person. but suddenly im cool and great and respectable because my skin is clear. suddenly i am a dragon breathing fire. tables turned. its bullshit. its the cowards that come out and say this crap cause they know they would never be able to be this rude if you didnt have the acne. they know that they are nothing. try to be strong. youre not alone. peace.
