I tried Jane Iredale a couple years ago on my Mom's recommendation, and I hated it. I thought mineral makeup must just not be for me.
But I thought I'd give it another shot, and ordered some aromaleigh samples. I just put some on and I have to say. NOT bad! The first color I tried worked well, too -- 1L, and I put a little dusting of the coquille corrective over it.
I know this topic has been discussed a lot, but I was just wondering if any of you have any insight on it. I have pretty dry skin, so I'm not too worried about getting oily during the day like some have experienced. I just used lily of the desert aloe as a moisturizer before I applied the makeup. Any tips/ experiences would be appreciated!

my best tip for minerals is to get a good quality bronzer brush(has a blunt flat top) Changing to this type brush has really helped with coverage and getting the product into the pores to conceal them. Good luck!

i LOVE aromaleigh
I mix 1N and 2N, as I'm somewhere in between
All i do is use a good, large makeup brush and sweep it over my face. And I'm all done. That alone is excellent coverage for me. I know a lot of people get all complicated and technical with application. Whatever works for them, but I don't care to spend all day making my face up
Beautiful make-up, and affordable
They have a forum, I believe. You may find some nice tips on there too

Hi CJB!
I'm really glad to hear that you've discovered mineral cosmetics! They're excellent for acneic skin, and the coverage you can get with loose powder foundation is really phenomenal! Pookie had a great suggestion -- a flat-top bronzer brush is excellent for applying mineral foundation. Some women also like using a flocked makeup sponge or a kabuki brush. Just keep working with it, and you'll find what works best for you!
Take care!

Thanks for the tips, gals.
I just used the J.I. brush that I already had to apply the samples - like the K1J on Pookie's picture. It seemed to work pretty well, but I will look into the flat brush. I like the minerals because I have rosy cheeks and liquid foundation covers that up, so I have to wear blush to not look sallow. But the minerals lets the rosiness shine through!
I also ordered there orange blossom mist to spritz on after application to 'set' the makeup. Do any of you find it's essential to 'set' the makeup and how do you do it?
Thanks again for the help!

Where did you buy your makeup brush(es)? Can you recommend me?

I think most of the mineral makeup companies sell them through their websites. Maybe somebody else has a better place for getting them though.

I love the crap out of my cheap Cover Girl flat top powder brushes! I have two of them and that way I can always have one clean and ready to go.

Hi Pookie
Thanks so much for the info. The price is awesome
What about quality? can you share with me your experience? What set do you recommend me?

Quality is great..but as for recommendation...well.. brushes are such a personal thing. I like natural hair brushes as opposed to synthetic myself. So the choice is really up to what you personally like
