The other night my friend and I went to a Mary Kay party. The representative gave a lot of skin-care tips that are pretty general knowledge, but one thing kinda stood out for me. She said that after moisturizing we should apply foundation in order to protect our skin, from what I'm not sure of, maybe she was just trying to coax us into buying the products. I was just wondering what other people think of this....
Foundation = Protection?

The theory is foundation offers a layer of protection(barrier) from pollutants and free radicals. It can offer sun protection but only if it has spf in it.

My guess is that the representative was trying to work the sun protection angle, which is true so long as the makeup has been formulated with titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, or synthetic sunscreen ingredients. But it's still important to wear suncreen under your foundation as well! Gotta keep that skin protected from the sun and looking the best it can!
Take care!
