Hey guys, I just want to first say that this message board is the single best resource on the net for acne support and information.. just wanna say thanks for all the knowledge I'ved gained from all of you.

My current question is about using nizoral shampoo on the face. I have an aweful lot of flaking on my face and I read somewhere that it could be caused by dandruff on the face... and they recommended using nizoral shampoo to wash the face for a few weeks to get rid of the yeast. Has anyone tried this?

I'm not currently on the regimen.. I used it for a good 6 months and it worked wonders.. but my face got really red and rashy, I think I'm allergic. The rash didn't go away for another few months after stopping the use of BP. But now I'm on Differin (which is much less effective than the regimen), but I'm still using the regimen mind-frame of quick, gentle washing and whatnot.

Yes, Nizoral shampoo is perfectly safe to use on the face for face dandruff. My dermatologist actually told me to get some. But just use it every other night! It's actually soothing!
