I don't know if any of you know this or not, but can I get my eyebrows waxed while I am on my acne medication? I am using benzaclin, retin a micor and taking dynacin. I called my derm to ask, but no one has returned my call yet. I just wanted to know if any of you waxed while on the meds. Thanks!!

I know for a fact that you cannot wax if you use Differin (due to the thinning of the skin) but I have never heard of any other meds.

When I was using tretinoin (a generic version of retin a), I had my eyebrows waxed.

...yikes. It took off pieces of my skin and left me with big red ugly scabs for about a week. Fortunately I didn't scar, but I'd never do it again.

Yeah Debonaire, probably any med in the retinoid family would be a "no wax" situation, since they all cause the thinning of the skin.

I tried waxing on Differin once (even used the "gentle" wax!) and holy crap...it ripped a few layers of skin off. I had big scabs under my eyebrows for about a week, then red marks after that. So I had the same experience you had. I also didn't scar, but still. NOT good...

Go with gentle tweezing.

I waxed while I was using Tazorac and Benzaclin and had no adverse side effects.
But I also didn't put the medication near my eyebrows.
