It's really best to not skimp on foundation. Since it is the number one thing on your skin all day it is not wise to go cheap. My dermatologist has told me that any brand that you would buy at a drug store is not good for you skin at all, no matter what they say. they have a much higher rate of pore clogging. My dermatologist reccomended investing in great foundation. I went to Macys and bought both a clinqieue superfit makeup and a prescriptives matte finish oil absorbing makeup. I MUCH prefer the prescriptives one even though it is a bit more expenseive. But you dont have to wory about the wrong color either, they match your skin perfectly for you right at the counter. It looks GREAT and it does not make you break out. I HIGHLY recomend investing in a good bottle of foundation. You wond't be sorry!

Does the prescriptive oil absorbing foundation make you appear flaky if you have combination skin? I have very oily nose area, forehead, and very dry chin area

My favorite when I needed higher coverage was Revlon Colorstay. It has the highest coverage I know of from a drugstore liquid foundation. The only higher coverage foundations I can think of are of such a thick consistency that they are extremely difficult to work with, and nearly impossible to make look natural (they really emphasized large pores) (I tried illuminaire extra coverage, coverblend - this one also dries to a tacky finish that clings to powder like nothing else making it look very unnatural, estee lauder extra coverage, lancome photogenic - not as thick as the others but looked terrible). It definitely did not aggravate my acne whatsoever.
