Quick question, can you really apply baking soda to your face everyday? I thought we shouldn't exfoliate our face that often.

I thought so too.. but surprisingly, this one seems alright to exfoliate everyday (in my case, yea). If yours do like... show signs of too much exfoliating through peeling skins or flakey ones, then try it every other day?

Take an egg. Crack it up, then as you open the shell, open it slowly over a bowl and let the egg white slowly flow out. Of course, the yoke will flow out as well so you gotta be careful not to let it out.

Alternatively, crack the egg, pour it into a bowl and scoop out a tablespoon or 2 into another bowl. Then the leftover, keep it into the fridge.

What I used to do is hit the top of egg with a spoon until it cracks. This will create a small opening on top, enough to be able to pour the egg white (the sticky liquid) to a spoon. Then, I placed the egg on an egg holder, covered its top with a small piece of plastic covers (the sticky plastic covers that you use to cover foods on plates). and the place the egg in the refrigriator for the next day. I use the same egg for 3-4 days before throwing it out.

Even though I have never tried it, but you could buy white eggs from the store. You can find in the grocery stores, next to the egg cartons, a milk-like-carton that contains nothing but egg white. I know that body builders consume that as they want the egg white (protein) without the yolk (for cholestrol reason I think). However, I'm not sure if this egg white can be placed on the face although it should because its an extract.

Is it vital you moisturise after applying the baking soda and ACV because im only using water at the moment and so i don't moisturise generally. I'm going out tomorrow and i hate having to put moisturiser on since it always shows some kind of dryness at some point in the day. Basically does putting baking soda and ACV really dry your skin out? thanks

Hey there..

I was on Delna's regimen for a week few days back.. There was definite improvement in my skin texture n marks.. But it wasnt helping much with my acne as I wasnt on any medications then.. Soon after i visited a Derm and 15 days on the medications my face was almost clear.. So i decided to try this regimen again for the sake of marks..

I have been on it for 3 days now.. I'm not applying the mask though.. Just BS and ACV/water(1:8).. My skin looks really good now.. I'm very happy with this stuff..

Thanxxx a lot Delna for sharing this!!

my aesthetician is just AWESOME!!! I had gone in for my second Silk Peel and we were talking abt various skin care mistakes for acne-prone skin... she told me that all u need for those red marks to go away is follow these simple rules.

morning...

1) cleanse with a mild cleanser for sensitive skin.

she says the concept of oily skin and using oily skin products for acne is wrong! oily skin products are best tolerated by ppl who have oily skin but free from breakouts. anyone who is doing ANY treatment for acne will have sensitive skin. so hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products are the best bet for them! this is because oily skin products strips of all the oils on skin..so the skin counter-reacts by producing more oil and hence more acne. those with breakout free oily skin...mm...the lucky few..r the only ones to tolerate this..P.Acne bacterium..why do u hate some ppl and leave the others alone??? WHY??? eusa_boohoo.gif

2) exfoliate

avoid all scrubs..no matter how mild they claim to be. but how do we exfoliate, do u ask??? oh thats easy...and DIRT CHEAP too!!! 2 WORDS- BAKING SODA!

she says that she has not come across any acne-prone patients who has benefitted from scrubs. it may work for a while in some...lead to initial happiness..yeah, and then lead to final gloom when breakouts appear from everywhere...even the areas where it was break-out free in the beginning! SO NO SCRUBS PPL eusa_naughty.gif .use baking soda instead... just make a paste out of baking soda and water...and massage very gently. wash immediately. u have to do this after cleansing. u may be able to extract some ripe or loose blackheads afterward. hey and never try to squeeze a blackhead if its not ready to come out...u will regret it!

3) tone to balance pH

now that baking soda is basic in nature..something acidic is needed to balance the ph. ANSWER? APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!

use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on.

4) apply ur acne cream..i use the Proactiv BP lotion. i use the amt Dan suggests for beginners...( edit: i switched to Neutrogena on-the-spot now). U can use ANY acne cream which suits ur skin. Dont skip this step.

4) Moisturise with SPF containing moisturiser. I use Cetaphil and it does not break me out. Look for the words sensitive skin, hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic WITH SUN PROTECTION FACTOR when u buy any moisturiser.

5) And for those who apply make-up, use non-acnegenic products containing titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. they r good for the skin too!

evening..

6) cleanse ur face ..( use baking soda and acv only once a day..morning or evening as ur preference)

7) apply a mild protein mask....till date..ive never found a mask that gives as good results as this mask..this is my aesthetician's favourite mask (btw..she has absolutely gorgeous baby-smooth skin and she told me that she had acne in her teens! hard to believe..!)

1 tablespoon of egg-white whipped up + a squeeze of lemon (dont put too much). smooth it over ur face..avoid eye area... wash off in 10 minutes....and look at a NEW REJUVENATED YOU!! eusa_dance.gif

i tried this mask every day for 5 days....its AMAZING...my skin looks so refreshed! And bonus point is that done everyday...this will make the red-spots VANISH!!!

8) Apply ur acne cream before bed.

THATS IT!! JUST 8 STEPS FOR A HUGE BOOST IN YOUR CONFIDENCE!!

I am not kidding...there is a HUGE difference in my red-spots after just 5 days of this routine. I am going to stick to this routine. U guys ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY THIS.....

i will be glad to answer any questions regarding this....

TAKE CARE ALL OF YOU!!

Love the concept of mostly natural ingredients here. I use diluted lemon juice as a toner at night, which makes the red marks go away pretty fast. Baking soda as a scrub? Hmm. Will give that a try. Every other day, I use Burt's Bees Citrus facial scrub, and it's pretty good, but much more expensive than a box of baking soda. Love that. The mask sounds great. I use Burt's Bees Pore Refining mask, but might give yours a try.

Hey there.. You are supposed to keep the mask for 10 minutes.. Though it dries before that.. I like the tightening feeling.. let it stay for 10 minutes even it is completely dry.. and then wash off

my skin has been acting crazy the last few months, and my derm and i both think it might be hormonal acne. i breakout in white heads in my t-zone before my period. he prescribed me benzaclin. can i still do this? or will it irritate my skin even more, its very drying.
btw i usally have normal to oily skin, but now that im on benzaclin its crazy. i also have pigmentation so if i get even a scratch it can cause a big red scar looking thing. (i know its not realy a scar) so i realy realy want this to work on the little red spots caused by my breakouts!

Dave,

Have you stopped your SA use? I am curious what your results were. Also, how much B5 do you take daily? I am taking Spironolactone for decreasing oil production, but am having bad side effects. I have always thought that you would have to take thousands of milligrams of B5 to notice improvement.? What is your dosage amount, and have your seen results?

I also do not care for BP. My skin is extremely sensitive as well...that is why I am a little leary of trying the vinegar again. I will just dilute heavily. I do feel the need to apply something after cleansing, exfoliating(Baking Soda), and balancing(Vinegar)...an anti-bacterial product....anyone have any suggestions besides BP or SA? Maybe I should just moisturize and be done. ????

How wonderful would it be for this easy, inexpensive regimen to work well enough to balance our skin, and help clear and decrease red marks in the process????
Keeping my fingers crossed. smile.gif

Thanks

What does everyone mean a 1:8 ratio? I'm also using epiduo at night...is that ok to put on top of all this stuff? and how do you make the mask?

You can buy baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) anywhere that sells food. It should be in the cake baking section.
Gonna have to try this regime now, though need to get the ACV in. Got horrid red marks that just won't budge and I'm sick of applying concealer every day! ninja.gif

i feel using cotten wools to apply the egg mask not good, first u will need a lot of egg mask liquid to make ur cotton wool totally wet and maybe the egg protein is trapped in the cotton wools.

i tried the egg mask for 3 days now, i feel not much changes. I will try the whole 8 steps as said by delna.

Eh, Why is delna not in this post thread anymore? Or she left this post because she know she have failed and now her face have worsen? No offense, just wondering. rolleyes.gif

What exactly is ACV supposed to do?

Dry up your skin?

Lighten your skin?

Also - how many people have seen results with Delna's original regimen?

for anyone who doesn't know your suppose to use the acv 10-15mins after you've washed your face with baking soda. The acv balances the pH of your skin.
