I plan on using AcneFree (which contain benzoyl peroxide) three step system at night time before bed and in morning put on clear and clear dual action moisturizer (which contain salicyclic acid) to moisturize skin and hopefully the salicyclic acid helps exfoliate face. I was wondering if this is a good thing to do and if not what are some better suggestions? Thanks any help is truly appreciated.

btw i put on cetaphil after using acnefree if that matters any

Although some would say, don't use BP products alongside sasylic acid products, I personally say do. The reason being that benzoyl peroxide works deep within the pores to prevent acne, sasylic acid works on the surface, so I find that the sasylic acid helps scarring/red marks and the BP helps with the overall acne.

I use Dan's BP alongside a moisturiser containing sasylic acid which works for me completely. Someone told me not to and to get a more natural moisturiser, but most of those moisturisers are like pooring a vat of grease on your face, so I decided to stick with what I have.

Give what you have a try, if it doesn't work for you, try something else. It's all a game of trial and error!

I would skip Cetaphil altogether and especially at night after BP. You don't need to moisturize after BP. You're counteracting what BP does - dry acne. Cetaphil broke me with a bunch of whiteheads - yuck. It's moisturizing and cheap but it's full of junk.

I'm sure the AcneFree system will be fine to try at night, but make sure you are using SPF at least 30 during the day. It's more important than your moisturizer. Without using BP, skin needs SPF. With BP, 10x more so. Sunscreens are not easy to find that are acne-friendly and because of this (even Dan can't seem to get one right), most people decide to skip it. You won't see the effects of skipping sunscreen tomorrow or the next day, but down the road you'll have brown spots and hyperpigmentation from the BP and sun reacting.

Lumiplexion sells an excellent sunscreen. She hasn't changed the formula in over 20 years. It's never broken me out. I wear it every day and so do my teenagers. She also has a gel moisturizer that is excellent. The sunscreen itself has a moisturizer in it, but with BP you will likely need an extra zap of moisture. Great Great stuff for acne prone skin.

I don't think planning to avoid the sun is reasonable. Are you never going to be in a car when it's light outside, never go outside, never sit by a window? Dan recommends Oil of Olay and that's fine to try, but it's another one that is fine for some but breaks people out. Proactiv's moisturizer used to be okay, but not sure now what SPF it is. You need SPF 30 or above.

try the neutrogena acne system; it comes with a salicylic face wash, benzoyl peroxide face cream and sun screen.
