I just finished my first week of the regimen, and I've been using Neutrogena On the Spot as my benzoyl peroxide treatment, until now. I'm not sure if it's just because I may have started applying too much too soon, but the On the Spot treatment really irritated my skin. even when I tried using less, yesterday my skin felt like it was on FIRE! even applying a ton of moisturizer (aloe vera and glycerin) didn't help. I had to wash it off with my soap. I also had been using the Cetaphil gentle cleansing bar, but today I switched both my cleanser and my treatment.

I now use the CVS brand equivalent of Cetaphil gentle cleanser (from now on I'll use the bar for my body I guess), and the Walmart brand equivalent of Proactiv repairing lotion. this seems to work much better as my treatment. it's not moisturizing enough by itself, so I still use my usual aloe and glycerin. MUCH less irritation, if any. but is this repairing lotion an effective replacement for the On the Spot? I think the bentonite in that stuff was adding to the intense dryness, irritation, and redness. for reference, here's its online page with the ingredients and all that: http://www.walmart.c...n-2-oz/19758071

I must ask if anyone else here had a bad reaction to the Neutrogena BP treatment. I will use it from now on only to treat existing blemishes, not my whole face.

Actually when its the first time that u use BP, its normal to feel that ur face is on fire. I felt the same way on my 1st week of dan's regimen. maybe u shud start slow. dont put too much, then gently build up week after week until ur face can get used to the neutrogena. :)

I did not have a bad reaction - it's actually working - on week two - I use their saliyic soap - benzol on the spot and their oil free lotion - I do consistently morning/evening and my face is clearing - and scars fading
