I just picked up a bottle of benzoyl peroxide face wash 5% today from the pharmacy. Some of the ingredients used in this face wash sound like a breakout waiting to happen. Am I being paranoid or should I stay away from this stuff?
carbomer, cetearyl alcohol, cocamidopropyl betaine, dimethyl isosorbide, hydrogenated castor oil, imidurea, methylparaben, mineral oil, PEG-14M, salicylic acid, sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium hydroxide, titanium dioxide, water, zea mays (corn) starch

paranoid. you'll be fine.
But I would prefer a gentle cleanser and some leave on benzoyl peroxide.

Leave on BP or SA is the way to go.

I used to use a cleanser with 5% BP and it was a breakout waiting to happen just because the skin was purging itself, not because of the rest of the ingredients. Worked really well once the breakout disappeared. I still use a 5% BP leave on treatment now when I get a breakout (although luckily that doesn't happen as much as it did) with really good results.
