It's So Hard To Give Up Gluten And Dairy !

I gave up gluten and dairy for about a week and i saw some good results, but i feel if i dont have foods that contain dairy and gluten in my diet then i dont have much energy and feel tired. I don't think you can get enough energy from eating just fruit vegetables etc...

You need to eat more fruits, not so much vegetables, fruits will supply you with a high calorie in take to be energized. Everyone that starts to do raw or a new diet starts like this, and then they blame the diet. You NEED to count your calories, you aren't eating enough. Just google how much eat fruit is in calories. Personally I eat about a 3000 calories diet a day, and most of it if not all of it is from fruit. For example, bananas are roughly 100 calories, you could easily live on 20-30 bananas a day, trust me I have been through this as well. I started with high vegetable intake, and I wasn't consuming enough carbs and calories. IF you do high carbs, make sure you do low fat, fat plus high carbs is not good.

Really you do need fruits, however until you heal your gut ANY sugar intake should be avoided. You'd need probiotics to help it heal and starve the possible yeast infection and then you may start adding more sugar, as your gut will be able to handle it better.

DARFTfrost, dude, its great you cleared your acne with probiotics/less sugar/omega/whatever.
BUT, this guy already said that he saw good results avoiding gluten and dairy, why do you think everyone have the same cause of acne like you did?
it is possible that probiotics will break him out, there was already topics about people that said that probiotcs broke them out.
for example, me, i can eat as much as fruits and sugar as i want and stay clear. but whenever i eat gluten or dairy [including kefir] i breaksteak.
im not into insulting just dont want the guy to breakout again just cuz he ate foods that he though he should eat...

KEFIR=dairy.... watch out......

KEFIR=dairy.... watch out......

kefir is not like your ordinary dairy, you need to do more research...yogurt and kefir are good alternatives unless you are lactose

Acne is related to digestion, Kefir is a miracle drink. It is enhanced with rare cultures/probiotics or the good bacterias that help the gut and digestion that are LIVING. In other words you are drinking a drink with living bacterias in them that feed on the "lactose" of the milk which is why kefir is nearly 99% Lactose and Gluten Free.

Think of it like this, if you don't have enough good bacteria in your gut, you are only getting 10% of the nutrients from what you are eating. If you have more of that bad bacteia (acne causing) which feeds on bacteria, your immune system will be negatively affected and you'll have digestive problems.

Most importantly, the Omega 3 6 9 balance is very crucial. By drinking Kefir you get lot more amount of Omega 3 from the food you eat. Yep many foods contain Omega 3, not only just fish and flax.

Kefir helps your guts to heal, while avioding sugar basically improves insuling sensitivity and starves and kills the bad yeasts which feed on excessive sugar.
Kefir is like a Yogurt but more like a PUREST form without any much additives or sugars. Kefirs you see in stores are mostly all antibiotics and growth hormone free, making them lot more healthier than any other Dairy.

Reason why probiotics you could breakout others because the processing that they do to the pills. Plus the probiotic supplements you are taking would not survive to reach your intestine as it will be destroyed by your stomach acid. So it really doesn't do anything much to you.
Fermented foods however are acid resistant and are living naturally making them far more healthier.They make lot of business making pills that don't work.

Probiotics are friendly bacterias that live inside your body for superb health. Bacterias are not bad, it's just that we think it's bad because they are invisible and they cause problems but thats because they are the harmful ones. Bacterias are just like humans, they are simply single celled organisms that live, they could be good or bad.

Most of our Immune system is related to our gut as lot of the bacterias live in there. You could say we are even covered with bacterias everywhere in our body. Even on our skin as they are very very beneficial for us. Killing them would cause problems, even your mouth has natural bacterias that fight cavaties but mouth washes basically kill all of them.

K back to topic...
It's great that you eat fruit vegetables and sweet potatoes but just for 2 or 3 weeks, I want you to cut out fruits for a while, and potatoes. As they are all rich in sugar, potatoes are starches which are chains of glucose that are absorbed after the chains are broken down. You are having lot of sugar from the fruits, sugars in fruits are digested lot more slowly but they are still sugar and can affect you if eaten in large amounts. One apple has around 20 g of sugar, can of soda has 33 g of sugar. So eating 2 apples, you get more sugar than drinking a soda. But sugars in apples would have natural enzymes and fibers. Still thats a lot of sugar.

Teas are very good! Eat leafy vegetables like, brocollies, spinach, lettuce, cabbage and so on. You could eat them as a salad, if you can't handle the taste make smoothie from them with maybe an apple added to soften the bitter taste.
You could then eat poultry, fish and other meats. Meats do make yoru body more acidifying which could aggrevate your acne, but as long as you are eating in moderate amount with vegetables , you are fine. Vegetables alkalize the body.

Now for Kefir, you can get Kefirs from stores. They are about 4 bucks each but you would need only 3 cups of Kefir to drink a day. DO NOT get the sweetened ones, get the plain ones. You could also make one yourself. You would need to order the Kefir Grains online, stores don't sell them. You can then use the kefir Grains almost forever as they multiply and grow as you make kefir. Best options are, Goat Milk and Coconut Milk, but if you can't afford them cow milk is still fine.

Oh and go to a store where they sell suppliments and buy " omega 3 6 9 oils in a liquid form!" Make sure there is more Omega 3 than OMega 6 in the serving. About twice as more. Then mix them with your Kefir and Drink them.

Thank's for the reply and great advice, you certainly have alot of knowledge. I have a question to ask, can you tell me what you would have for a breakfast lunch and dinner if i'm cutting out on fruits and potatoes. Ok i will have a look out for kefirs, i live in Scotland in the United Kingdom, i'm sure they will sell them in stores here also.

I don't undertand all the things about how the gut works and how to heal it etc... I'm not really good at understanding scientfic things like that but i will try to understand. Thank's for replying

I do have to agree on the fact that there isn't that much to eat once you cut grains and sugars out.
For breakfast, you need something light. It's not exactly eating cereals with fried sausages and bacons with bread. That is the casual american diet which isn't going to help your skin. You can have fruits like "Kiwi, blackberries, and some strawberries", then you have a 1 cup of Kefir with your Omega 3 6 9 supplement plus Psyllium Husk Fiber Supplement if you can. You want to avoid actual milk and cereals. If you really want grains, oatmeals are fine but still it's best to avoid them as they are still carbs. and carbs are inflammatory. Acne is an inflammatory disease.

For lunch, you can have salad consisting of leafy vegetables, plus 1 cup of Kefir and mushroom or vegetable soup with some amount of meat if you wish. Also Chicken legs, and even WHOLE WHEAT subway is fine.

For dinner, you can eat meat like Salmon, beef, lamb poultry.. and so on. Don't add sauce or anything to them. It's best to eat them fresh and clean. WIth that, you can add in vegetables. Along with tomato soup, with chicken and vegetables. The key is to avoid white grains like flour and rice.

Brown rice and 100% whole wheats are better choices as they are not refined and remain natural without it's nutrients stripped away during the refining process. Plus they have enzymes to aid digestion and are fiberious enough to slow sugar absorbtion, but until you heal your gut it's still best to avoid them. Once a day, you could eat whole wheat subway if you wish, but remember to include fresh vegetables.

Go to a store and buy yourself "omega 3 6 9 liquid suplement" like I said and a Psyllium Fiber supplement. Fiber is like a cheat that you can use.

I don't undertand all the things about how the gut works and how to heal it etc... I'm not really good at understanding scientfic things like that but i will try to understand. Thank's for replying

I do have to agree on the fact that there isn't that much to eat once you cut grains and sugars out.
For breakfast, you need something light. It's not exactly eating cereals with fried sausages and bacons with bread. That is the casual american diet which isn't going to help your skin. You can have fruits like "Kiwi, blackberries, and some strawberries", then you have a 1 cup of Kefir with your Omega 3 6 9 supplement plus Psyllium Husk Fiber Supplement if you can. You want to avoid actual milk and cereals. If you really want grains, oatmeals are fine but still it's best to avoid them as they are still carbs. and carbs are inflammatory. Acne is an inflammatory disease.

For lunch, you can have salad consisting of leafy vegetables, plus 1 cup of Kefir and mushroom or vegetable soup with some amount of meat if you wish. Also Chicken legs, and even WHOLE WHEAT subway is fine.

For dinner, you can eat meat like Salmon, beef, lamb poultry.. and so on. Don't add sauce or anything to them. It's best to eat them fresh and clean. WIth that, you can add in vegetables. Along with tomato soup, with chicken and vegetables. The key is to avoid white grains like flour and rice.

Brown rice and 100% whole wheats are better choices as they are not refined and remain natural without it's nutrients stripped away during the refining process. Plus they have enzymes to aid digestion and are fiberious enough to slow sugar absorbtion, but until you heal your gut it's still best to avoid them. Once a day, you could eat whole wheat subway if you wish, but remember to include fresh vegetables.

Go to a store and buy yourself "omega 3 6 9 liquid suplement" like I said and a Psyllium Fiber supplement. Fiber is like a cheat that you can use.

Thank you very much, i'm going to take all this advice on board and start on monday, i think i will buy the supplements from amazon i just had a look at them. I will have a look tomorrow in the supermarket for kefirs.

What are the advantages of the Psyllium Fiber supplement ? And how are you getting on from living this healthy life style ?
