So here we are.
35 years old. 17 years fighting acne. Finally stopping every product.
Had cleared my skin (more or less) through a regimen of only water, and rubbing ice on my face from times to times.
Wanted more perfection.... Last week, used Dexeryl / Cetaphil cream. Result was a disaster and a breakout like I did not have in a year or so. Tons of pustules coming out. 5 of them were quite persistent on my cheek. The would not empty themselves while the others had gone already. I helped them out and finally popped them.
And first time yesterday that I did not let any water touch my skin. Going on the full cavemen regimen.
First observation is that the skin is really drying up, and I have a weird sensation. Like I really need to wash and remove something off of my face. But I won't as I read this is normal. Day 1 is ok aside from that.
Will report again tomorrow!

thanks. how has it been working for you so far?
here, day 2. The dead skin is really starting to build up. I had been using only water for a week before stopping putting anything on my face.
It's acceptable, but quite noticeable. also, the sensation and urge to wash are still present, but a little less than yesterday.
no new breakout, no new pimple coming out. the pustules i had and which i popped are also healing properly. not fully scabbing yet, but actually not irritated at all.
continuing. no water tonight, and on the way to day 3!

it's really been great. i mean of course I have those days where I just think "what the hell am i doing?" I should really wash my face, but I fight through the feeling. The overall experience has been positive. Really this past week or so things have been calming down extremely well on my face and I actually don't have a single active spot on my face....just a couple red marks.
I've actually found that if I sweat one day and don't wash, the next day my face looks much better the next day....as opposed to a day I didn't sweat. The dead skin really was never a big problem for me. I have some flakes that I pick off with tweezers in the morning (like usually 4-5) but then the rest of the day my face is normal. I've never seen a "mask" on my face.
The thing i hate doing the most on this is shaving!! I use an electric razor and no matter what I do I always breakout a little the day after I shave. I just shaved today so we'll see tomorrow if anything comes up. I'm hoping not, since the rest of my face has been really well lately.
I'm gonna send you a link to a video that's been encouraging me through these last couple of weeks to continue.

I am also really happy with the results so far. And I am only at day 3. My skin has calmed down really a lot. At 35, I am not at the hormonal acne stage anymore and mine seems to be clearly cosmetics / soaps related. I also did not have any active spots since those 3 days started. Some marks due to popping pustules before I stopped washing and that's it. Will see what I can do about the dead skin. I guess it's a sign that the skin is renewing so I'm not overly worried. This morning I woke up without the urge to wash, and I feel less 'congested' on my cheeks. It seems to slowly work. Going for day 4!
The sweat thing is actually interesting as well!
thanks for the video btw! inspiring indeed! hope your shaving did not cause any breakout. Did not shave since i started not putting anything on my face. Will see how that goes sometimes next week.
