Hello all,
My question is about how Levulan treatments should be spaced apart...my doctor (Moonsang Choi in Vancouver) came highly recommended, but his office and receptionists are a clusterf---, and have left me feeling confused and not really trusting the whole process anymore. I had my first treatment today, and I'm supposed to have my next treatment in a week (like 7 days from the first one), but that seems so soon based on everything I've ever read. My third treatment is 2 weeks after that, and 4 days before I'm flying abroad for a wedding; he says my skin will be fine for the wedding, but that sounds really soon to me.
I just had my first Levulan treatment today; no microderm or acetone, Levulan liquid painted on and left for 90 minutes, then some type of light for 15 minutes each side of my face (blue and red led's interspersed, I don't know what the official name is). Didn't hurt, barely felt anything.
It's about 4 hours later and I'm starting to flake, but that could be the Arnica gel I applied, or the fact that I washed my face 4 times in 1 day (morning, pre treatment, post levulan, and post blue/red light, as per instructions).
Any experiences like this? I suppose I'll find out over the next week how my face reacts, but I'll be seeing him again in 3 days and I want to be prepared.
Thanks!

I have done one Levulan Photodynamic therapy treatment out of two. I have to wait 4-5 weeks until I can do another one. Every dermatologist Ive talked to said you have to space them a month apart no longer and no less. I dont understand why you would go every 7 days, that sounds like just the simple light treatments without the Levulan. My face was very burnt looking for about a week, but I was told to still wear sunscreen everyday 2 weeks after my treatment.

Mine was definitely Levulan (I mean, unless he lied, which seems unlikely), and my face is now very sunburned/windburned looking. Weird. Will have to see what happens.
I mean, if I can legitimately get it all done in a month (3 treatments) then that's awesome, but...hmm, it just sounds so different from everyone else's experiences.
