he just rinses with water when he's in the shower. and sometimes if he doesn't shower that day, he doesn't wash at all.

good luck! feel free to let us know how it goes on this threat. For me it seems to be going pretty ok, though the pustules which came out last friday are still there. Healing but still very much here.

I honestly don't see how this caveman regimen could possibly be effective. But apparently I guess it does work for some people. I would think an unwashed face would be a feeding frenzy for all of the acne bacteria, but good luck! I'm curious if this will work for you or not.

ok, so today I saw a lot of small white heads appear but nothing that I can say was directly a result of this regimen, I shaved the day before(generally leads to something), I ate a lot of sugar so I can't really say if it's the regimen or some other reason yet, but it's nothing bad, my skin looks better for some reason, the marks seem to have reduced although I believe it may be a result of the oil causing light to shine so it sort of gives the effect? but definitely too soon to tell, I haven't washed since May 23rd. One thing I feel is that sweating(working out) might be beneficial to this regimen but let me try that out too, I will go to the gym tomorrow and I won't wash my face after that till the day after, so that would make it 4 days including 2 days of sweating if I go to the gym on May 26th as well, then a quick wash(maybe). So, don't worry guys, I am going to be the test subject and I will keep posting honestly.

I think I made a topic on this once.
I tried the caveman regimen and it did wonders for my face. I think it actually helped my acne go away. I now use a lactic acid chemical peel every 4 days or so for the leftover scars, so Im technically not on the caveman regimen, however I now only wash with water. I believe the other poster got it wrong though, I really doubt dead skin build-up is going to clog your pores. Cavemen didn't wash their faces. They had tons of dead skin on their faces, so why would their bodies adapt in a self-destructive way by giving itself acne? I think it's the opposite, actually. The dead skin shields the face from outside toxins that could penetrate it.
Good luck. Some things you'll notice is an insanely oily face from anywhere from a few days to a week. This will go away if you don't wash your face at all (this includes not using water) but if you use water, especially hot, it wont balance itself out. I find that a good alternative is to use cold water and a wash cloth to sort of spread the facial oils outward from your T-line towards your cheeks. It makes you look less shiny, but also doesn't shock your body into thinking it needs to massively produce sebum.

Thanks for the advice, good to know there's somebody to turn to for help! I agree with you about the dead skin though, there is actually something I read about the "horny layer"? the outermost layer of the skin and a study said that we should actually take a bath once in 3-5 days or more because this layer protects the new skin underneath and washing kinda damages it pretty bad. Also, I used to wonder why there is no acne on my hands but I have had boils(and acne) everywhere else on my body, turns out the horny layer is 40 times thicker on your palms and the base of your feet. So, it makes sense to let this layer develop, right? I don't know but that's what I feel, I mean I know my ancestors were farmers, they probably sweated all day in the fields and probably had a lot less baths than I do today, they never had acne I know that for a fact. Anyway, I have lived a long time with acne for me to be worried about getting worse acne than before now, so if I am going to do this I will do it right, atleast for 2 months I am sticking to this regimen so my next bath should be 2 or more days later.

Ok, So since the last post I have gone to the gym 2wice, meaning I sweated a lot and didn't wash after that, today morning and yesterday evening I had a lot of whiteheads around my lips, might have been because of shaving, I still haven't washed and tomorrow morning I will be washing after 5 days and I will probably go to the gym before that. I noticed that sometimes my face itches a lot and if I touch my face(in general) it leads to more whiteheads. the whiteheads themselves seem to kinda just leak off and die? by evening many have done just that so it doesn't look as bad as morning, I think if they keep popping and dying my skin should heal but there has to be a point when whiteheads stop appearing otherwise this in itself may become a cycle of acne. I am worried about shaving tomorrow as I feel it leads to acne on my jaw. There is the appearance of dry skin around my jaw, a bit around my nose and forehead as well, lets see how it develops.

Yeah, this is a sign that they are healing all right, and not prolonging.
