Hi everyone, just a quick question for you all... I heard that silicone injections for acne scars was the best treatment they have available right now. I am not sure if this is true, but I am interested in maybe getting them for my scars since laser doesn't do anything. Has anyone heard anything about silicone injections for scars?

Gottverdammt. Who told you that? This forum? heh. I'll concede that most lasers are gash, but 'laser does nothing'? That's one hell of a statement. Check out this thread.. http://www.acne.org/...er-link-o-rama/

Anyway, my main concerns with silicone fillers is that they're permanent, can migrate, makes you unable to get other treatments like re:pair after (afaik) and it does nothing to break down scar tissue. Scar tissue LOOKS different to normal skin, it's kinda shiny, and you're going to be left with that shininess after the filler.

What kind of scarring do you have, rolling, icepicks or boxcars? There are other treatments available even if you're opposed to lazah, I don't think you should inject silicone into your face before exhausting all your other options.

I have boxcar acne scars on my face. You can go to my page and look at my gallery and see all of my scars. I heard about the shiny thing happening to your skin, that is so weird! I have had laser treatments and they did nothing for my skin. I am sure it works for some people though.

if your skin is not so sensitive, then maybe you could try 'low' % of tca peel or some type of peels first to reduce the appearance of scars? then maybe artefill or temporary fillers instead of silicone..?

I think your scars are too superficial for silicone.

Did you decide to get any fillers?
