Sometimes I get these little grayish white dots around my lips. After a while they flare up and become big, painful pimples. Sometimes they do this on their own, and sometimes after I've picked at it or irritated it.

I've had two or three dots on my lower lip for almost 2 months now. I know they won't go away until they flare up. I'm assuming the dots are clogged pores - does that sound right? Is there a way to unclog them so a pimple won't form? I don't want to irritate either or a pimple will form.

You can get a professional facial/extraction. That would probably help. I wouldn't do it yourself, you'll almost forsure make it worse

Currently I use Cetaphil face wash, then 0.5 % salicylic acid. I do this twice a day. Then I use 5 % benzoyl peroxide at bedtime as well. That's all I use.

Most spas will do facials with extractions. You really have to interrogate the staff to get someone who KNOWS how to do extractions and LIKES it. I had one great facial with extractions at a cosmetology school. It was cheap because it was a student, but even so she was awesome at extractions. I went to a real spa and paid double for the same thing, and the lady pressed around my nose a bit with her fingers (didn't even steam my face or use the extractor tool) and it did nothing!!! I highly recommend extraction facials, but find a facialist who really enjoys squeezing gunk out of other people's pores Posted Image
